Nose Surgery Reviews

ㄴㅈㅂ 1 year 7 months review

It’s been about 1 year and 7 months since I had surgery at ㄴㅈㅂ, and I’m someone in this community who’s considering whether to do anything additional. Most reviews I see are either from people who haven’t been long out of surgery, or posts saying it just went back to the way it was, so I wanted to leave my real review. Also so I can look back at it later haha

First of all, I had a bulbous nose, a hump, a crooked nose, and a very droopy nasal tip. At a glance, it was definitely not an easy nose to operate on. Other hospitals said I would need major surgery and quoted around 3 million won. I wanted to find the most natural-looking method that would open the nose as little as possible, so I went around to several places and came here because it seemed like this was a place that could do the closed rhinoplasty I wanted.

Consultation: As soon as I entered the clinic, some man was shouting and fighting with one of the consultants lol, so my first impression was the worst. I wondered if I should just go home... but decided to at least get the consultation.

The funny thing is that the consultant who had fought with that man was assigned to me, so it was a bit awkward... She guided me to a small room, and since this was my very first surgery, I was nervous and had no information at all about how nose surgery is done, so I asked a lot of questions. The consultant looked a bit annoyed and seemed irritated, though not outright angry, while she made the estimate herself.

The consultant estimated shaving the hump through a closed approach, adding 6 mm of dermis, alar reduction, and various other things. She didn’t force me, but she mixed in comments like, “You’ll feel disappointed later~” and “It won’t be noticeable~” while telling me to think about it.

After that, the director came in. He was somewhat older and had a lot of pride in his career. He even boasted that he created this surgical method, and I think he spent almost 30 minutes consulting with me about my nose lolololol.

Unlike the consultant, the director said it would probably be enough to add dermis to the nasal tip and do cartilage tying, so I immediately said okay and booked the surgery. Another director is the most popular and famous, but this director seemed very honest and seemed like he would only do what I wanted, so I went ahead right away.

Surgery day: After booking the surgery date, I heard that CCTV recording was available here, so I requested that too. During the pre-op consultation, the same consultant said, “Do you know how much pressure the nurses feel because you asked to record the CCTV? Do we really have to film it?” I said I still wanted it recorded, and the consultant left with a sour expression. I had the final consultation with the director and went to the operating room.

I don’t remember much from the operating room. While I was under anesthesia, I could hear the director’s voice a little, but there wasn’t anything unusual, and I remember it being about the surgical details. When I woke up, my nose was throbbing, and because the anesthesia hadn’t fully worn off, I was half-asleep. Thankfully, the nurses helped me well, and I remember going home safely.

After surgery: After 3 days, all I had to do was remove the tape on my nose, so I had no trouble with daily life. The swelling in my nose lasted 1 to 2 weeks, and even that swelling wasn’t severe, so I went to work and went out to have fun, but nobody noticed lolololol.

At first, I really liked the surgical result. Since my nasal tip became higher, the hump was less visible, my nostrils looked smaller, and it felt like I had a sharper, higher nose. The hump and crooked nose were still the same, but they didn’t stand out much, so I was happy.

Clinic revisit: Since there were no stitches and no cotton packing in my nose, I wanted to check the progress and have a consultation, so I called myself and went in for a consultation. They compared my before-and-after photos and also gave me an injection so my nose wouldn’t scar.

The consultant said my nose had become much prettier, but then said, “But isn’t it a little disappointing?” and suggested shaving the hump, adding more dermis to the nasal tip, and doing alar reduction. She also said they would put filler near the glabella area for free and call the directors, so I said okay.

The first director said my hump couldn’t be corrected through a closed approach, but the side bone could be shaved to make it look less visible. However, he said the hump didn’t show much anyway, so why do it, and that it wasn’t really necessary.

The second director said that if I did alar reduction, the bridge of my nose could actually look thicker and the proportions wouldn’t match, so he told me not to do it.

The third director was the one who did my nose surgery, and he said it looked very pretty now and told me not to spend more money unnecessarily, so the consultant’s face gradually stiffened lolololololol.

6 months later: Until then, I think I looked at my nose in the mirror every day and prayed, please don’t get lower.

1 year later: I got busy and hectic with work, so I didn’t think about checking my nose. Then I checked in the mirror and could see it had gotten a little lower. Compared with old photos, my nose had come down a lot. Still, it’s different from my original nose. That’s for sure. Because now I have something called a nasal tip.

However, doing this once did not dramatically change my nose or make it a high, defined nose like getting silicone inserted would. I think it only gives a slight, natural change.

1 year and 7 months later: Even now, it’s similar to how it was after 1 year. I don’t think it’s getting any lower anymore. After the first surgery, I loved my nose so much that now I’m thinking of revisiting to add dermis, but I don’t see any reviews from people who added it... If anyone here has done it, please let me know, I’m asking you haha

Anyway, the conclusion is that I’m happy because my nose is different from my old nose. But to get the nose I want, I think either adding more or doing open rhinoplasty would have been effective. Still, the look I pursue is natural, where nobody knows I had surgery, so I think I did well choosing closed surgery. So far, the only side effect has been that it got a bit lower.

If anyone is considering ㄴㅈㅂ, I recommend thinking carefully before having surgery. It’s not dramatic! All the directors were very kind, and I never felt like they were trying to rush me. Reviews of the most famous director say he does consultations very quickly and ends them, but I haven’t met him, so I don’t know. When I go to add dermis, I’m going to ask to consult with a different consultant, because the one I saw was the unfriendliest consultant I’ve ever met. Anyway, that’s how it was! Bye!
