Privacy
There is nothing to sign up for and nothing that asks who you are. This page lists everything that is recorded anyway when you open a page here.
What this site asks you for
Nothing. No accounts, no sign-up, no newsletter, no comment box. The only thing you can type is a clinic name in the search box, and because that form submits as an ordinary link, the words you typed appear in the page address and therefore in the server log described below.
Cookies
This site sets one of its own, named NEXT_LOCALE. It remembers which of the five languages you are reading in, lasts a year, and holds nothing else. Google Analytics sets its own separately, in your browser. Blocking cookies breaks nothing here; the language choice simply stops being remembered.
Google Analytics
Every page you open is reported to Google Analytics, which tells whoever runs this site how many people came and what they read. Google receives your address and browser details as part of that, and handles them under its own terms rather than this site’s. A tracker blocker, or the opt-out add-on Google publishes itself, stops it.
Server logs
The web server writes one line per request: when it arrived, the address it came from, the page asked for, what the browser called itself, and how long the answer took. It is there to see what search-engine crawlers are doing and to find faults. Lines are kept at most seven days and then deleted.
Cloudflare
Requests reach this site through Cloudflare, which serves pages from a machine near you and turns away abusive traffic. It therefore sees the same request details the server does, and sees them first.
What none of it is used for
There is no advertising here, no ad network, no retargeting pixel, no profile assembled about you, and nothing sold or passed to anyone besides the two services named above.
Your data, and other people’s
Nothing recorded above carries your name, so there is usually nothing here to look up. Requests about the published content itself, which is where a person’s own words may appear, go through the corrections route on the About page.
Changes to this page
This describes what the site does today. When that changes, this changes with it.
