Hello. For a while I practically lived in this community because of removal, and I finally got it removed.
I had nose surgery 4 years ago in Gangnam with 3 mm silicone, septal cartilage for the nasal tip, and ear cartilage, and I also had my hump shaved down.
I had nose surgery because I had a complex about my nose. It did become better than my original nose, but from the outside it didn’t look dramatically different, and I was uncomfortable because of the foreign-body sensation, an occasional smell inside my nose, and septal cartilage protruding on one side of the columella. It also sometimes hurt with a tingling sensation, so I decided to remove it.
I think I started thinking that I should get it removed about 2 years ago? But I worried for a long time that I might regret it like my first surgery, kept thinking it over, and then decided.
I had the removal surgery at Hongdae ㄱㅇㅅ.
It was to remove all the silicone, ear cartilage, and septal cartilage. Before going into surgery, the director said that if there was any depressed area during surgery, it might need to be filled, and I had both sedation anesthesia and local anesthesia.
I woke up intermittently during surgery and could feel the operation, but I was half-asleep, so I don’t remember it well.. Then the area between the nasal bridge and the nasal tip was slightly sunken, so they said they were considering whether to fill that area with septal cartilage or not, and I think I said okay. They said they wouldn’t mince the removed septal cartilage, but would make it soft and pliable and insert it.
I came home with a splint on, and removed the splint on day 3. Removing the splint... really hurt so much.. When I had my previous nose surgery, removing the splint didn’t hurt and removing the stitches hurt so much, but this was pain beyond stitch removal ㅠㅠ
Until day 3 after removal, it was swollen from the nasal bridge to the nasal tip. At first the bruising was mild, then it gradually turned green, and now a little yellow remains.
My original nose was a long hump nose, so after removal I was worried that the nasal bridge might look too shaved down or that my nose might look longer, but from what I’ve seen so far, my nose actually looks shorter and natural, so I’m satisfied. However, the part where the septal cartilage was added between the nasal bridge and nasal tip feels slightly bumpy when I touch it, but it doesn’t show from the outside, so I’m watching it for now. They said it may disappear over time.
I had the stitches removed on day 6, and fortunately stitch removal didn’t hurt. Before stitch removal, even when I stayed still my nose felt heavy or swollen and had tingling pain, but now when I stay still it feels completely fine hehe They said they don’t particularly recommend anti-contracture medication, so I’m not planning to take it.
Just as I received a lot of help here, I hope this can be even a little helpful to those considering removal. These days you may be even more anxious because of brokers, but I hope you filter reviews that fit your own nose with sharp eyes and get good results!
