Third Review: Cartilage Repositioning, Alar Cartilage Reconstruction + Donated Costal Cartilage Use

Hello!! After having up to my third rhinoplasty last year, things improved a lot, and my mental state has also become a bit stronger, so I’m writing a short review like this! All the photos were taken after I had recovered a lot from the third surgery. When I think about all the emotional suffering I went through, it feels both such a waste and heartbreaking. I had the surgery because I wanted to look more handsome, but the result was that the cartilage area at the nasal tip collapsed, the nasal tip became shorter, and it ended up looking upturned. I had expected a good result, but since the outcome was not good, all kinds of thoughts really went through my mind.

Even so, I gathered strength and had revision surgery, but not much changed, so I wondered a lot whether I had to live like this. I think everyone will relate. Still, I felt like I shouldn’t just stay this way, so I really visited many clinics, gathered information from here and there, and asked my female friends a lot too.

I also got a lot of information from this community. Then I ended up proceeding with the third surgery. I did think a lot about what if the third surgery failed too, but I had the surgery thinking, “Could it really get worse from here?” and it improved a lot. Ha, those were truly difficult days!!! Until the swelling went down, I really felt like my blood was drying up...

For the third surgery, I had cartilage repositioning and alar cartilage reconstruction. Using donated costal cartilage, the nasal tip length was extended and the columella length was adjusted. So the unnatural nasal height was also lowered a bit, which I like.

I had the surgery last year, and now it has settled a lot, so I’m happy. I’m writing this review hoping it will help, but since it’s my first time writing one, this kind of post itself feels a bit awkward.

When I first had surgery, I really thought about my nose all day long, felt like people were only looking at my nose, and had such a hard time, but now those thoughts don’t really come up, so my mind feels at ease.
