The surgery I had was silicone, a septal support graft, and slight dorsal hump shaving. I had it removed more than 10 years after the surgery! For the removal surgery, I had the silicone and capsule removed, the septal support graft removed, and the compressed cartilage repositioned!
Hello~ It feels like only yesterday that I was waiting to take off the splint after removal, but already 50 days have passed. I debated a lot about whether to write a review, but there are still many people asking questions in comments on my posts and sending me messages, so I’m leaving a post after a long time. I also thought about deleting all my reviews, and I had a lot on my mind after posting them. Every surgery also depends on luck, and I became more cautious because I thought that if someone had surgery at the hospital where I had mine because of my review and something went wrong, they might blame me. So from now on, I’m not going to mention the hospital. Please don’t ask anymore about the hospital name, price, and so on ㅜㅠ I hope you do your own in-person and online research and make a good decision!
You can ask me as much as you want in the comments about things that happen after surgery or how it has been after removal~ I don’t send or receive private messages. Also, these days even yesterday’s events are hazy for meㅋㅋㅋ so for what happened right after surgery, I think it would be more helpful to read the review and comments I left before!!
After I finished taking Rizaben for one month, there was no shape change for a while and no major pain, so it was manageable. After posting my last review, what worried me the most was that after taking Rizaben, my face looked yellowish, and the area where the dorsal hump had been shaved was fine on the upper bridge, but it started to show whitishly on both sides~ I think they probably shaved slightly on the sides. I was very worried because the shaved areas were so plainly visible. They were clearly visible from the front, as if erased with an eraser. After I posted my last review, I guess the swelling on the bridge of my nose started going down in earnest. When I wrote that review, I thought I didn’t have any bridge shaving marks....ㅠㅠ I got a bit depressed again, wondering if this was the bridge irregularity I’d only heard about, but I lived with the mindset that I could just cover it with makeup, and now maybe the tissue has filled in, because it doesn’t show much anymore. I guess time really is the medicine~~ though it’s hard because that time feels so slow...
These days, since a few days ago, I suddenly started having a slight headache that I didn’t have before, and maybe because tissue is attaching to the bridge, it feels tight, I somehow feel nauseous, and when I raise my eyebrows, the lower part of my glabella feels a bit uncomfortableㅠㅠ It kept being uncomfortable and hard, but when I looked today, a lot of the swelling on the sides of the bridge had gone down. I think it might be the feeling of the tissue on the bridge reattaching to the bone... My original natural nose didn’t have much tissue on the bridge, so the dorsal hump area stood out a bit, but I still have a lot of residual swelling on the bridge. Maybe because of that, it looked high from the side, but from the front it was so flat that without contour shading and highlighter I felt a little less confidentㅋㅋㅋ These days, after that pain, the bridge has become a bit slimmer and the swelling has gone down a lot, so the front view isn’t bad either! The area where the dorsal hump was shaved sticks out slightly, so I guess it may have been shaved a bit less. Having a slight contour actually looks more natural, and in terms of shape, it’s better than I had worried, so I’m fairly satisfied. Honestly, there were so many negative things said about removing a septal support graft that I removed it without expecting much in terms of shape~ Before removal, my nose had also been upturned... I’m just trying to see and think about everything as positively as possible. Like, this is originally my nose, and after having surgery once and then removing it, it can never be exactly the same as my original nose... Also, the nasal tip becomes soft and squishy at night and a bit firm in the morning! This keeps repeating, and now I can gradually make a pig nose too! But the softness varies every day, so I think I still need to keep watching it a bit longer. Before removal, my nose was upturned, red, the tightness got really severe, breathing was so uncomfortable, and the headaches kept getting worse, so I truly lived in anxiety. Even if contraction-period pain comes occasionally now, I’m not as anxious as I was then.
The contraction period isn’t over, and it’s still ongoing, so I’ll have to keep watching how it goes, but if nothing happens from here, I would really be so happy.
If there are people hesitating about removal because of a septal support graft, septal extension, or dorsal hump shaving, I hope the review I left can be helpful. After trying removal myself, if there hadn’t been any major issues, it turned out not to be such an extremely high-risk surgery. In fact, after silicone removal, my upturned nose also came down~ Of course, everyone is different, and it’s a surgery where luck is needed too, so please make your decision carefully!!!
