Nose Re-Surgery@rhino-redo

I got it removed (I thought it was silicone, but it was Gore-Sili..)

I posted earlier while going to have surgery, and now I’ve finished surgery and am resting at home. Right now I feel... devastated ㅠㅠ

Excluding the preparation time, I think the actual surgery time was 30-40 minutes~ During local anesthesia, it hurt so much that my eyes felt numb, and I cried ㅠㅠ Still, in conclusion, I’m glad I didn’t do sedation!

It was nice that the director explained little by little, even when injecting anesthesia, saying “the injection is going in here,” and after anesthesia, saying what he was going to do now.

I went in to remove 7-year-old silicone + remove part of the nasal tip septal cartilage.. He was pulling the silicone hard, but it felt like it wasn’t coming out.. (like when a dentist pulls hard while extracting a wisdom tooth) I think it was because it was Gore-Sili. In the middle of removal, during surgery, he said, “It’s Gore-Sili,” and I had a mental breakdown. The previous clinic is infuriating.. Even when I went to the clinic about two months ago and asked if what was inside was silicone, they just said it was straight silicone.. Even when I first had surgery, they only said silicone.. To think they implanted Gore-Sili, which is said to be the worst to remove..ㅠㅠ Thanks to that, removing the adhered Gore-Sili was hard.

After taking out the Gore-Sili, they called in my guardian (mom), showed her what was removed, showed her the trimmed nasal tip septal cartilage, showed the scar tissue caused by the Gore-Sili and got consent to cut it out, and explained that for the step-off in my nose, they would crush and insert the removed cartilage, then proceeded as explained (because it was local anesthesia, it was good that I could hear all of this during surgery).

Because it was Gore-Sili, they scraped out the entire capsule too (when I originally went in for removal surgery, they said they would leave the capsule). When they were scraping, it felt like bone being scraped.. ㄷㄷ

They said they operated so there wouldn’t be much bleeding, so swelling or bruising shouldn’t be severe. However, I saw the removed Gore-Sili, and the Gore-Tex fabric part was a little tattered and some parts were missing.. I’m not sure if that was originally a silicone-only area.. or if it came off during removal.. (the part above the thumbnail that only has silicone) I’m anxious that maybe complete removal wasn’t achieved. I’m going to the clinic in two days and will ask again.

Please.. I hope everything was removed ㅠㅠ I heard that if pieces are left like this, it’s almost impossible to find and remove them again.. The doctor confidently said it was removed well.. If anyone has had Gore-Sili removed, I’d like to ask how it was for you~

I’ll post again after going to the clinic next time.
