I went for a consultation because this place is famous for correcting bulbous noses. It seems a lot of people come here for revision surgery, and one unusual thing was that they correct a bulbous nose and raise or lower the tip using only the nose's own basic cartilage without using any cartilage at the nasal tip. It was interesting... Of course, for people with small alar cartilages, they add ear cartilage to raise the tip, but they don't explain in detail how they can lift the tip without a columellar strut. (Is that a trade secret...) Instead, I did like the before-and-after photos. For people with very large nasal tips, they do an external incision method by making a vertical cut in the middle of the bridge, and for others, the tip can also be made smaller with just a diamond tip correction procedure. But the reason I visited this clinic was that I have a small nostril opening and thick alar wings, and most clinics say they can't reduce alar thickness. I came because they said only this clinic could both enlarge the nostrils and reduce the thickness of the alar wings. It is a method of making an incision inside the nostril to enlarge it, and as far as I know, there are only two clinics that do this surgery... People really say Korea is a powerhouse for plastic surgery, but in terms of alar reduction technology, Southeast Asia seems to be ahead. I visited around 20 clinics, and only two of them performed this method... One doctor even said such a method doesn't exist (even though that clinic is famous for alar wings...) It is true that the alar thickness is reduced and the nostrils get bigger, but it does not reduce the frontal area of the alar base. Even if they say there will be no scar with alar dieting, they still do alar reduction together with a lateral incision, so an external incision mark remains on the outside of the alar base. And for building up the bridge, they mention Megaderm, but honestly I didn't like the material. Even for a first surgery, it costs more than major clinics famous for nose surgery, and if you say you want to use a different material instead of Megaderm or another recommended material, the cost goes up even more. Price-wise, it's expensive. This may be worth considering for people thinking about revision surgery, people with a really severe bulbous nose, or people like me with small nostrils and thick alar wings. It might not be bad to just get the alar dieting procedure.
