I started in 2021, had the braces removed in April, and I’m currently wearing a retainer. I thought it would be finished in about 3 years, but my impacted wisdom tooth pushed against my teeth, so I had to continue longer. The dental clinic was a bit far away, so I didn’t go as diligently as I should have, and it ended up taking 5 years. Still, I really saw a lot of results. My face shape became slimmer, my snaggletooth moved in, and my smile looks better now. I also had pretty severe malocclusion, but now my teeth are healthy and well-aligned. The downside is that for the first 2 weeks after getting the braces, it really hurts even when you’re just staying still.. I was basically barely chewing my food against the roof of my mouth. I did lose 5 kg because of that, but it hurt so, so much. Still, I heard a lot that I got prettier after orthodontic treatment, so I’m completely, completely satisfied. Especially my face shape!! The change was bigger than I expected.
