Since middle school, whenever I looked in the mirror and especially when taking photos, my facial asymmetry stood out so much that I was really stressedㅠㅠ Back then I went to an orthodontic clinic, and they said I had dental alignment issues and the bone lengths on both sides were different, so to properly correct the facial asymmetry, I would need two-jaw surgery after the bones had fully grown. I kept worrying about it from then on… Every time I looked in the mirror, I saw the facial asymmetry, and I felt like it would stress me out for life, so after becoming an adult, I finally decided on two-jaw surgery! After deciding on two-jaw surgery, I searched YouTube and hospital websites here and there and read tons of reviews. I narrowed down about 3 to 4 hospitals I wanted consultations at and visited them. But Director Shin Hee-jin at EU Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery explained the surgical direction in the easiest way for me to understand, and explained everything very meticulously and in detail, so I really trusted her. She paid attention to both the functional and aesthetic aspects, and she seemed to have a huge number of two-jaw surgery cases, so I felt reassured! Also, even before I separately asked the consultant, they first explained things related to CCTV recording, surgical safety, and side effects, so I really trusted them. That’s why I chose EU Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery! Day 1 After waking up from anesthesia, I was really sleepy and felt like I was going to throw up, but after 1 to 2 hours, the pain decreased a lot and I felt better than expected. After 4 hours, I drank water and rested a bit, and I felt much better. From then on, my face gradually started swelling Day 2 In the morning, I got swelling laser treatment and had the nasal tube and urinary catheter removed. Breathing became much easier. I had so much phlegm, but after getting a phlegm injection, it got a bit better. After getting another painkiller injection, the pain also decreased a lot Day 3 As the swelling came up suddenly, my jaw and the area around my mouth felt so heavy and uncomfortableㅠ It was a day that was hard because of swelling rather than pain sob sob Day 4 My face kept feeling heavy and stuffy, and I kept waking up because of coughing and phlegm. Still, I could eat liquid food like beef bone broth, so that was at least a reliefㅠㅁ ㅠ Days 5-7 The swelling was really at its peak! The inside of my mouth also felt firm and heavy… But as I took short walks little by little, the swelling gradually started to go down, though I could feel the swelling moving downward Week 2 By week 2, the swelling suddenly went down a lot!! I still have a bit of tingling in the center of my chin, but when I touch it, I can feel all the sensation, so I think my recovery is on the faster side haha. Oh, and before, especially when I looked at myself with the iPhone front camera, my face looked so different from the mirror that it stressed me out, but now the mirror and photos come out almost the same, so I was so amazed and happy
