It has been 8 days since removal. There is currently no awkwardness from swelling. The swelling changed so much that it was honestly amazing; I experienced my face changing day by day.
I went back to work from day 5 after the removal surgery. A coworker who knew I had the removal surgery said my impression looked softer, and coworkers who didn’t know anything seemed to notice that something had changed but couldn’t tell what it was lol.. Some even asked if I had lost weight.
Anyway, it’s now day 8, and I think my face no longer feels awkward to me and has become natural~
For a while after the removal surgery, until day 6, my nasal alar area felt like it was going to burst, as if cherry tomatoes were stuck in there, but it has sunken in to some extent now haha Maybe because I’ve gotten used to my own face now, even when I look at it, I feel like no one would know unless I told them haha
I only did cold compresses until day 4, but from day 4, yellow bruising suddenly came up across my glabella and the entire nasal bridge. Now the bruising is fading a lot day by day, and I’m recovering well.
It’s prettier than my original nose and more natural than my surgical nose, and the current shape is just right, but I think it will still change a bit more.
Now, even when my hand brushes over my nasal bridge while washing my face, the pain has faded a lot, and my makeup also no longer sits awkwardly on the surface for the most part. Until day 5, it hurt even just to lightly tap the nasal alar area with my hand, like when washing my face and applying lotion, but now I don’t think there’s any pain. I guess the expanded swelling has gone down to some extent; my pores weren’t even visible because of the swelling, but now the pores on my nose are clearly visible again~
If you’re about to have removal, I really think no one will notice if you go back to work after 7 days. And if you’re really short on time, I think resting for at least 4 days is enough to be able to go out~ Ah, of course, I had closed surgery, so I’m not sure if that’s why there was less swelling, but even in the past, when I had other surgeries or nose surgery, I generally didn’t swell much.
The hospital told me I didn’t necessarily need to have the stitches removed, but I’m planning to stop by once to check the progress.
I had closed surgery to remove the silicone, remove the ear cartilage that had been placed after tying the nasal tip, and remove the ear cartilage columellar strut. For the nasal tip, the tying was released and it was repositioned.
Just a month ago, in mid-March, when I joined this community, all I could think about was removal, so I stayed connected until 3 a.m. looking up old reviews. It feels like just yesterday, but now I’ve safely finished the removal surgery and am leaving a review like this. I was so grateful at the time for many people’s reviews and information haha
For those about to have removal, referring to reviews similar to your own condition and doing online research are important, but I really think in-person consultations are important too! I hope you make sure to visit several places for consultations and get good results! ^^
