Before <before removal> After <1 week after removal> I impulsively got a nose surgery 5 years ago haha
I had it done with L-shaped silicone + ear cartilage. I had almost no nasal bridge, but distinct facial features don’t suit my face, so I only raised it to a moderate height for the surgery.
The surgery turned out really natural, and it looked pretty in a way that no one would think it was a surgically done nose, so I had been living well...
But since my nasal bone was congenitally deviated, I started feeling like the implant looked more noticeably crooked as time passed, and even after 5 years I still couldn’t get used to the foreign-body sensation in my nose, so I had been thinking that I wanted to remove it!
The specialist who did my surgery at the time said that when they looked at my nose for surgery, my nasal bone was deviated, but touching the nasal bone would make it a major surgery, so they just inserted it as originally planned (thinking about it now, that was really fortunate)
Anyway, while thinking about removal, I looked up a lot of information, but the more I did, the more anxious I got, so I went to a clinic that had CT in-house, had a consultation, and proceeded with removal surgery.
At the consultation, the implant was much more crooked than it looked to the naked eye, and I don’t know why, but they said the silicone was bumpy (the nasal bone was fine)
I also wanted to remove the ear cartilage, but they kept recommending removing only the implant, so I did that hahaha
It hasn’t even been a full week since I had it removed through a closed approach, and as expected, removal barely has anything you could even call swelling haha.. I’m going to get the stitches removed tomorrow
Having it removed this time really made me realize again that I have zero thoughts of revision surgery, and that nose surgery is really dangerousㅠㅠㅠㅠ
