It had been about 5 and a half months, and I had it removed at the *same hospital where I had it done* in Busan. The *reason for removal* was that the hospital had actually done the surgery very well, so as time passed I didn’t really have any side effects, I could breathe well, and the shape was okay (though I disliked the feeling that it had become slightly longer. But my friends said it didn’t look long at all). I removed it purely because of psychological anxiety. I went to many consultations at the hospital and was anxious, but they reassured me that they could remove it whenever I wanted, and they really did a full removal! At the end, the consultant suggested whether it might be better to leave the cartilage, but I asked them to just remove everything. Now, when viewed from below, the nose has definitely dropped, so I do regret a bit that maybe I should have asked them to leave it, but anyway I feel relieved inside!
The surgical method was *4 mm silicone + short nose surgery nasal lengthening + ear cartilage at the nasal tip.
Comparison of my natural nose, surgical nose, and old nose
My natural nose was a low, short bulbous nose. It wasn’t a severe bulbous nose, my skin was on the thicker side, and I had no nasal bridge ㅠㅠ Right after the removal surgery, I asked how the nasal tip looked, and the director said that even originally, compared with my nasal bridge, my nasal tip was on the higher side.
My surgical nose somehow became a little blunt at the bottom, maybe because of the nasal lengthening, but compared with my old nose, it definitely looked slimmer and more refined. If before I had a cute-looking face, after surgery I was often told I looked more defined. Around me, some friends didn’t even know I had nose surgery, and the ones who knew said the nasal bridge was definitely more noticeable than the change in the nasal tip!
My current nose is only day 3 after removal, so I’ll know once the swelling goes down, but the nasal bridge has definitely sunken in. It doesn’t feel extremely low, more like the feeling you might get when filler has spread. I was told the nasal tip would become thinner than my old nose, but the director said that although the nasal tip is high now, it may get lower once the swelling goes down, so I’m waiting. For now, it’s still as high as my surgical nose! From the front it looks blunt, but not severely blunt, and when viewed from below, my nostrils have returned to my natural nose.
There is no upturning or indentation at all!
I really think removal needs to be considered very carefully. Right after removing it, I felt relieved, but after coming home and looking in the mirror, because the surgical nose was definitely prettier, I regretted everything, thinking I should have endured the psychological anxiety a bit, or at least asked them to keep the nasal tip. Then yesterday I came to my senses and now I’m satisfied. To be honest, nasal bridge silicone is still too scary for me, and I’m thinking about filler after 6 months. It became lower than I expected, haha ㅠㅠ
Since I also lived with anxiety for 5 to 6 months after nose surgery, I really understand how people who desperately want removal feel. If anyone is having a really hard time, you can send me a message and vent, and I’ll listen to everything. We will all be okay. Having it removed at the same hospital where I had it done was also a big decision for me, but in the end I’m glad it wasn’t bad ㅠㅠ
