Double-Jaw Surgery Reviews

Male underbite double-jaw and contour surgery, 2 months in. I’ve started exercising again.

It’s been about 2 months since I had double-jaw and contour surgery from Dr. Shin Hee-jin at Yigu Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Once I got past the one-month mark, I could definitely feel that recovery became much easier. Because of my crowded teeth and underbite, eating and brushing were uncomfortable, and I was very stressed every time I looked at my lower jaw, which was turned inward. Even smiling, I kept worrying about my expression, so I started looking into double-jaw surgery. When I was choosing a hospital, I looked at reviews, ratings, and the facilities. Since it was close to my workplace, I thought it would also be convenient to go there for orthodontic treatment after surgery, so I chose Yigu Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Now I can eat a much wider variety of foods than I could at one month post-op, and the burden from the wafer and rubber bands is almost gone, so daily life is much easier. Right now I only wear the rubber bands when I sleep, and it’s not very uncomfortable. At first, the swelling on the left jaw side was a little worse, so it felt like facial asymmetry, but as the remaining swelling went down, I could see it gradually settling more naturally. I think I just need to wait a little longer for the last bit of swelling in my cheeks to go down, so I’m taking it slowly. I can open my mouth enough to fit about three fingers. Other than a bit of pain if I open too wide, there’s almost no discomfort in speaking or daily life. I’ve also started exercising again, starting with light weights. Even when I jog lightly, the jaw hardly shakes and there’s almost no uneasy feeling anymore, so activity is much more comfortable. I’m still only 2 months out from double-jaw and contour surgery, so I’m still recovering, but compared with the one-month mark, there are definitely many parts of daily life that have become easier. The swelling is gradually going down and I can see my face settling into place, so I’m looking forward to how it will develop from here.
