Waking up from anesthesia, I was seriously cold and half-conscious. But aside from the nose pain, having cotton packed tightly into my nostrils so I could only breathe through my mouth was absolute torture... My lips got completely cracked, and I woke up choking in my sleep more than once. Even when eating, I couldn’t tell what anything tasted like and just swallowed it. The few days before removing the cotton were just not human living... It’s so hard.
