What I wrote about days 1–3 after nose surgery

- [] Day 0 - [] The day of nose surgery - [] While I was lying down after entering the operating room, I suddenly genuinely regretted it. I kept thinking, “Why did I do it? Why, why did I do this...” But once I was already lying there, I had to endure it lol. Disinfecting my entire face hurt horribly when they disinfected inside my nose, and it was so unpleasant that I got annoyed.. I just waited for anesthesia, thinking that it would all be over once I woke up. I think I woke up in the middle and said to the doctor, “I think the anesthesia has worn off. Is it okay?” But after the surgery, I asked the nurse, “Did I wake up and say something in the middle?” and she said that never happened lol. - [] Before going home, I was lying in the recovery room and didn’t hurt at all, so I said, “Oh lol, it’s bearable, I’m fine~” and took videos and photos. I had just gotten an inner-eyelash perm and wasn’t supposed to rub my lashes, but I think I rubbed them like crazy while wiping off the disinfectant. They were completely ruined, so I just gave up T_T. The manager came and said the photo I had shown at the end had been fairly glamorous, and that a 4.5 mm silicone implant had been inserted for my nasal bridge, which surprised me. 4.5 mm was the maximum height I had imagined, so I wondered whether it might be too high T_T - [] It started hurting from the moment I got home.. The swelling started at the same time, and wow, I realized how hard it is to breathe only through your mouth. My mouth was dry.. I couldn’t open it properly, so I couldn’t enjoy eating anything.. lol. - [] But the first food I ate was jjajangmyeon with sweet-and-sour pork and stir-fried rice with japchae, because my friend said we should eat it lol. Drinking water through a straw was also a little difficult, and my nose kept bleeding. I kept waking up every 10 minutes or so, drinking water after waking up and then going back to sleep.. - [] Day 1 - [] The day after nose surgery - [] As soon as I woke up, I genuinely regretted it and thought, “Why did I do this?” I didn’t eat and just took my morning medicine, then tried to sleep more. It hurt and was so uncomfortable, I had a headache, tears kept falling on their own, my mouth was dry, drinking water was difficult, and I couldn’t even lie flat.. I endured it, sleeping and waking repeatedly, then went out for a walk to buy Tylenol and gauze because the gauze was too soaked. - [] I got up after noon, drank a glass of sap water on an empty stomach, had pumpkin juice, took my lunchtime medicine, walked around with strawberries, and ate an apple, peanut butter, five cherry tomatoes, and dried persimmons for a late lunch. I mostly just lay down and kept using my phone. I played some games on the computer too. - [] For dinner I ate ready-made octopus kimchi porridge, then ate a ton of dried persimmons at night because I was hungry. It still hurt a lot, and having a runny nose and nosebleeds was exhausting. I wanted to get the cotton removed quickly, but I had to endure another day and a half. I want to remove it tomorrow right away... I can’t smell anything because of the cotton. - [] Day 2 - [] I woke up at 7 a.m. that day, and since I couldn’t sleep at all, I think I only slept for two or three hours. On an empty stomach, I had a glass of sap water, a packet of pumpkin juice, and my morning medicine, used my phone for a while, and then went back to sleep. - [] I didn’t apply cold packs extremely often, but putting one over my eyes helped me sleep a little. Today the swelling had moved down a lot, so my cheeks and jaw felt extremely tight and swollen. - [] I went for a walk and also went outside briefly to take care of some work, so I think I moved around much more than yesterday. I removed the gauze support completely and only used it when going outside. - [] I had egg fried rice for lunch and pork belly for dinner, but chewing the pork belly was uncomfortable too. My nose felt a little tight, so I was worried I might mess something up.. I didn’t think about alcohol or smoking even once, which was actually great! I wonder if it will feel different once the cotton is removed? - [] The bleeding stopped, but my nose kept running.. I carefully dabbed it dry, but because it kept getting mildly irritated, the skin between my nose and upper lip felt uncomfortable. - [] I thought it was amazing that I didn’t have a single bruise on my face, but instead there was a blue bruise on the tip of my nose.. It was also extremely swollen, so I got worried and searched about it. I’ll ask tomorrow when I go to have the cotton removed. - [] Finally, tomorrow is the day to remove the cotton... I wonder if the swelling will go down faster once it’s removed. Afterward I’m going to walk even more diligently. The swelling at the tip of my nose seems like it needs to go down three times more and settle further from here...^^ I’ll know once the splint comes off.. T_T - [] Ah, since I can’t smell anything, my breath doesn’t smell, so I stopped brushing my teeth lol. I carefully brushed them this morning because I was going out. I haven’t tried washing my hair yet, but if I wake up early tomorrow, I’ll ask my friend to wash it for me.. - [] I think I got used to breathing through my mouth from this point. When I look in the mirror, my nose is so huge that I’m a big-nosed person, yet.. even though my whole face must have been very swollen, somehow my face looked smaller and slimmer? My eyes were swollen too, but I looked pretty? lol. Maybe it was because my nose was completely covered with tape, haha.. Anyway, perhaps the swelling refined my face shape, because I looked pretty. The side profile next to my nasal bridge already seemed pretty too.. I’ll only know after the splint is removed and the swelling goes down, but I’m starting to get a little excited! - [] Oh, and my lips looked so pretty.. They were plump. I normally have a lot of lines, but because of the swelling, both my upper and lower lips were smooth lol. The shape of my lips isn’t particularly pretty, but I kept looking at them lol. Should I get lip filler? - [] As for my review now, 1 year and 6 months later: there is still some redness on my nasal bridge. They said it would disappear eventually, but it hasn’t.. I’m just going to live with it, thinking of it as a minor side effect where the blood vessels show through because a high silicone implant was used. My nostrils are also slightly uneven. lol. Honestly, I love the height of my nasal bridge, and I wish the tip were a little higher, but it turned out natural enough that most people don’t realize I had nose surgery unless I tell them. I would have been really disappointed if my bridge were lower, and I think the bridge at least helps preserve a natural look. The beginning of the nose surgery was so hard that I thought I could never do it twice, so I’ll live without revision surgery if possible. I’m satisfied with this and think it was a good decision to have my nose done.
