Nose Surgery Reviews

A boring post-op nose swelling and bruising update

I have now had everything removed except the nasal support, and I was so bored that I came to write this lololol - Two years ago, when I had autologous costal cartilage rhinoplasty I was hospitalized for two nights and three days. Until day 2, I had rib-area pain so severe that even getting up was difficult. From day 3, I could get up, but I could not straighten my back. Splint removal (one week after surgery): Yellow bruising remained on both sides of the bridge. After 2 weeks: The bruising was barely visible. Until week 4, I walked around hunched over and wondered whether I would have to live like that forever, but it gradually improved afterward. The swelling had gone down enough for normal daily life from week 2, and it seemed that the residual swelling continued to decrease until month 8. - Currently, after nasal implant-removal surgery (no splint, no nasal packing) The bruising is severe because adhesions were removed. Day 1: Purple bruises began appearing from the evening. Day 2: A purple mermaid-man monster. Without a splint, the bruising and swelling were so exposed. I felt gross every time I looked in the mirror and was embarrassed to show my face to my family, so I wore a mask around the house too. The left side was relatively okay, but the right side became very puffy, and even the under-eye fullness disappeared. It hurt much less than when the autologous rib cartilage was removed, so I started morning and evening walks from day 2. Day 3: A yellow mermaid-man monster. Half of the under-eye fullness on the right had returned, but the area below it was still very puffy. Still gross. Day 4: A yellow mermaid-man plus No-Face. The bruise-like dark area under the eye was still there, so I looked like No-Face. The right eye area was a little better, but it was still very swollen and puffy. Still, I was happy because I could feel the swelling improving. Day 5: A little yellow, a little mermaid-man. I could feel the swelling had moved down toward my cheeks. I looked like I had slept deeply and become puffy, so I did not like it~! Yellow bruising remained, and the under-eye fullness on the right had completely returned, but half the swelling remained. Still, it felt like I could live again now that the swelling blocking my vision was gone. Today is day 5, so I have nothing more to write. It went from a puffy purple mermaid-man to a slightly yellow mermaid-man, so I feel much more comfortable. I used to sleep sitting up for a month, but with this surgery my back hurts too much these days, so I am sleeping with two pillows stacked up. It should be better in about two weeks, right? I will come back then. Bye-bye.
