Double-Jaw Surgery Reviews

Review of maxillofacial surgery for facial asymmetry, recessed chin, and protruding mouth

Hello,I had severe facial asymmetry since I was a student, and I also had a recessed chin and protruding mouth, so I did not like taking photos and did not feel confident about laughing broadly in front of people. That led me to look into maxillofacial surgery, and on October 14, 2025 I had maxillofacial surgery and contouring surgery of 2 types (square jaw, chin) with [Doctor A] at Y Oral!It has now been 3 months, and the reactions around me have been positive. People say my impression has changed, and acquaintances tell me my facial balance has improved. There are many reactions saying it looks naturally better rather than looking overly obvious, so I am even more satisfied To be honest, the recovery process was not easy. Right after surgery, swelling and discomfort were the biggest issues, and my nose and throat felt clogged and the sensation of phlegm moving upward was difficult. I also could not eat freely, so there were times when I felt physically and mentally worn down. But as time passed, the swelling gradually went down and the pain decreased, and I could feel my condition improving day by day. After 2 weeks, daily life became much more comfortable, and after about a month I was able to live without pain. At the current 3 month mark, the major swelling has mostly gone down, and I only feel slight residual swelling in the morning. So overall, I am quite satisfied with the surgical results. It is still too early to call it the final result, but I am satisfied that the asymmetry, protruding mouth, and recessed chin that worried me most before surgery have clearly improved. More than anything, the biggest change is that my stress about my appearance has gone down and my confidence has risen with it.At present, I have almost no inconvenience in daily life. Speaking has become natural again, and eating is mostly fine as long as I am careful with hard foods. There are still areas where sensation has not fully returned, but it is not at the level of interfering with daily life. Overall, the results and recovery process were much better than the parts I had worried about before surgery, and even if I were asked to choose again, I think I would make the same decision!
