Double-Jaw Surgery Reviews

12-month double jaw surgery review: a completely changed face line in just one year! Dr. Kim Jong-yun at Iyugang is the best haha

I had been stressed about my jaw since I was young, and although I tried to improve it with orthodontic treatment, it did not get better enough for me, so I finally decided on double jaw surgery. I lacked confidence in my appearance, so I always covered my mouth when I smiled, and I hated being photographed too. There were many moments when I felt uncomfortable because of first impressions in front of others, so I wanted to change through surgery. The cost was a burden and I hesitated, but with money I saved little by little from working part-time since I was 20, I was finally able to have the surgery, and after much deliberation I made the decision. The place I chose was the oral and maxillofacial surgery clinic where Dr. Kim Jong-yun works, Iyugang. While thinking about double jaw surgery, I watched many reviews and videos for nearly 5 years and naturally became interested in this clinic. The review photos, facilities, and the doctors' expertise and friendly impression were so good that I decided on surgery at my very first consultation. I did not feel the need to look into other clinics, and because it was a clinic I had trusted and watched for a long time, I could decide with peace of mind! The first 1 to 2 weeks after surgery were really hard. I could not sleep properly, my hands and feet tingled, my head and ears felt like they were ringing, and because of the aftereffects of anesthesia it was hard even to look at my phone. Even swallowing water was difficult, and I kept coughing and spitting it out, so it was extremely hard. But after discharge on day 3, I slowly adapted at home and started recovering by eating simple things like Pocari, soup, and Newcare. In week 1, I was still waking up while sleeping and dealing with discomfort such as a blocked nose or nosebleeds, but little by little I was able to move around and adjust to daily life.As I got to weeks 2 to 3, the swelling went down a lot and I was able to put on makeup and meet people. At first my jaw looked shorter and my cheekbones stood out, so it felt awkward, but little by little I could feel my facial line becoming more natural! From month 1 onward, I could eat bit by bit, and my facial asymmetry also improved, so I was happy with my side profile.By months 2 to 3, my face looked much more natural, and I could go out without a mask. People around me said my face looked smaller, and my expression when smiling became softer, so I gained a lot of confidence.By month 6, most of the swelling was gone and my jaw line had settled, so my facial contour became stable. The pain and swelling were tough at first, but now I am satisfied both physically and mentally. Now, one year later, I really think I made the right choice to have the surgery! I do not have to worry about angles when taking photos, and sensation in my jaw and around my mouth has mostly returned, so daily life is not uncomfortable at all. I am still doing a little TMJ stretching and orthodontic care, but the facial balance and side-profile line improved a lot, so my satisfaction is very high. People around me notice the change too, and I feel good every time I look in the mirror and see my different face!I do have memories of the difficult beginning, but now I have confidence and smiling has become enjoyable! For anyone thinking about double jaw surgery, I would say that if you think it through carefully and have it done at a clinic you can trust, you can get good results.
