I started with nose surgery 2 years ago, and in the end I ended up getting silicone removal plus revision surgery without implants haha. At first I was really naive and just thought a higher nose would automatically be prettier, so I went ahead with surgery. But in the end, my nose clearly looked operated on and the step-off made me look more masculine. I should have retaken my passport photo at that time, but I was so stressed about my nose T_TTTT I hated taking photos so much that I kept holding out and holding out... For me, nose surgery was an incredibly difficult process. I feel like all of this came from my own greed, and the costs piled up too, so I regretted it a lot T_TTTT At first I was only looking into removal, and while lurking on cafes and this community, I searched for the so-called top three removal places? clinics people go to a lot? and went around for in-person consultations too. But they said that my nose was not the kind that would look pretty just by removing the silicone.... Once I heard that just removing the silicone would definitely create a step-off, I got even more worried T_TTTT While going through consultations, I realized that even if I went back to my original nose completely, I would probably be stressed about that too, so in the end I started looking again into silicone removal plus revision surgery at that time. When I went for the consultation at VN, it was already my fourth revision consultation, so I was almost mentally exhausted.... Before going, I dug through reviews hard to see whether they mostly do removals for first surgeries and whether they also do reconstruction well for second surgeries, and I consulted with Director Oh Seung-il. I said my current nose has way too much presence in the bridge and that I wanted to change to a softer, more feminine image, and the director agreed, saying that with my facial features a softer and more feminine image would suit me much better, which made me happy. After the consultation I thought about it for about a week and then booked the revision surgery. The surgery day was really nerve-racking.... I had already experienced failure once, and just thinking about lying down on the operating table again made my whole body tremble from fear to an almost unbearable degree. The operating room was cold too... (but all operating rooms seem cold lol.. I guess it can't be helped) I got goosebumps on my body, but seeing that I made it through surgery and am living normally now, I feel like I also grew a step mentally.. This time I used autologous costal cartilage and had an open revision, so I was extremely anxious again after surgery about scars and scar tissue and things like that, but before the second week ended, my swelling was uneven, and when I went in for a follow-up, the director said there was scar tissue inside my nose and gave me a scar-tissue injection too... T_T I was really scared then. But as time passed, the scar tissue went away, and the swelling is healing well without any unevenness.. Now that I think about it, the best thing after removal is that the silicone used to make me feel a constant sense of mismatch, whether in cold weather or just when seen from the outside. Not having that is so nice too.. Going forward, maintenance will still be my responsibility, but I think for a while I'll be able to live feeling satisfied. I desperately want to completely escape nose-related anxiety in the future.
