Rhinoplasty was truly a surgery I debated over until the very end. Since I’m the type of person who was even scared of double eyelid surgery and hesitated over it, rhinoplasty was even harder to decide on. But I kept feeling bothered by how my face looked flat overall and lacked dimension, so after a lot of thought, I decided to go through with it. I already had nasal filler, but from the front, I felt disappointed that my nose looked wide and didn’t have a refined feel.
At first, I visited several clinics for consultations about eye surgery, but through the consultations and analyses, I realized that improving my nose would make my overall image look more refined, so I naturally changed direction toward rhinoplasty. After that, I searched a lot on YouTube and read many reviews, and among them, the surgical results by Director Kim Hyun-joo at RU Plastic Surgery looked the most natural and refined, so I went in for a consultation.
During the consultation, the explanation of the design and direction was clear, which made me trust her. I had even already made a reservation at another clinic, but I felt confident enough to change clinics despite having to pay the cancellation penalty. At the time of the consultation, some filler remained, so I had the filler dissolved first about a week before the nose surgery, and the remaining filler was removed together during surgery. The fact that they paid such close attention to these details made me trust them even more.
Director Kim Hyun-joo designed my nose to suit my face shape, connecting the nasal bridge naturally without raising it excessively, and she refined the overall proportions by lifting the nasal tip and lowering the columella. The nasal bridge was shaped naturally using silicone, and the nasal tip was built with autologous costal cartilage to create stable support. In addition, functional aspects were also considered, so septal deviation correction and inferior turbinate resection were performed together.
Before surgery, I adjusted my diet for about 1–2 weeks to manage swelling, avoiding salty and spicy foods as much as possible. After surgery as well, I managed my diet mainly with porridge, tofu, and yogurt. As a result, I had very little swelling and bruising, and my recovery was very fast. As for pain from the costal cartilage harvest site, maybe because I had experienced a cesarean section before, it was not very difficult. It only felt slightly stiff on the second day, and after that, it did not interfere with daily life at all. My recovery was comfortable enough that housework and office work were both possible without difficulty.
At first, it felt awkward, but as time passed, it gradually felt like it was settling in more naturally. Above all, I was really satisfied that breathing became much easier. My overall impression also became more defined and much more refined, and the reactions from people around me were so good that my satisfaction increased even more.
Since it is still the early stage after surgery, I expect the result to look even more natural and complete once more swelling goes down. The scar is also healing faster than I expected, so I think it will barely be noticeable if I manage it well. It was a surgery that let me personally feel how much my image could change with just the nose, and I would like to recommend it to those who want a natural and refined change.
👉🏻 “If you want to change in a refined way without looking overdone, I think you’ll be really satisfied.”
Thank you once again to Director Kim Hyun-joo🥰
