Hi everyone. It’s already been 6 months since my surgery, and I finally finished consultations at all the clinics I had in mind, so I’m writing consultation reviews on my way home. <My nose currently has a donated costal cartilage strut (extension) + ear cartilage + lateral osteotomy> The reason I want removal is 70% shape and 30% discomfort.. As for the shape, my nose got bigger and bulkier than before surgery, and it feels like the nasal tip I originally had actually disappeared.. In other words, I’m a case where my nose became a bit uglier after nose surgery. The discomfort was expected, so it’s okay, but since even the shape is like this, I’ve been holding back the urge to rip my nose off for 6 months.
1. ㅊㅁ This was the first place I went. Full removal is possible, and they said about 80% would return. But they said if a problem occurs during surgery, they might have to take dermis from the buttock or something like that, or possibly place MegaDerm, so I suddenly got scared and thought, let’s not rush into this for now.. and left. Oh, and they were the only place that said I had columellar retraction. The director was kind.
2. ㅅㅅㅇ Full removal is not possible. They said the strut has to be left in. They said it would be hard to return to my original nose, and that the current bulky feeling won’t go away even if I remove it. The director is extremely conservative. They really answered everything ambiguously They kept saying “hmm...” over and over. Anyway, because donated costal cartilage is in there, they said to remove it and newly harvest unused septal cartilage to use as the strut.. But for me, the staff or consultant here were really not it.. They were so unfriendly that I wondered if something bad had happened to them. It wasn’t even an average level. Out of all the plastic surgery clinics I’ve been to so far, they were the most unfriendly.
3. ㄱㅇㅅ Full removal is possible, and they said they think about 80% of my original nose could come back. The director was kind and consulted very thoroughly, even drawing pictures. There were a lot of reviews saying they were unfriendly, but I didn’t feel that at all. They consulted with me for so long that the consultant came in to stop it lol They said they would try to make it as similar as possible, but the nasal tip could become a little lower than my original nose. They were the only place that suggested making a new incision line.
4. ㅇㄷㅇㅇㅇ Full removal is not possible, but they said if I really~ wanted it, they could do it. They said if I remove it, my nose could become asymmetrical or the shape could get even stranger. So they suggested newly harvesting septal cartilage, or if the condition is not good, using ear cartilage to build a strut. But they said they would use a different method from my current nose, so it would be much more comfortable. They said most directly? that they couldn’t understand why my nose was done this way. But since there is no inflammation or other issue, they most recommended just living with it. Anyway, they advised me not to take full removal lightly at all. The director spoke very realistically without making me feel bad. They practically taught me.. They were the first to tell me that my nose had an extension.
5. ㄷㄹ I think this was the first place where I got a CT..? Why don’t removal clinics usually take CT scans? Anyway, full removal is possible, but they don’t recommend it. It’s also hard to guarantee the shape. Likewise, they said there is no major issue like inflammation, and that I should be very cautious about removing it just because I’m dissatisfied with the shape. They said the lateral osteotomy was almost at a level where it was barely done… (Seriously, what exactly did my primary surgery director do properly?) They said they can shape it as much as possible, but told me to think carefully one more time. The director was really serious and answered everything diligently without seeming bothered.. The consultant also thought it through with me, and was rational yet serious.
6. ㅍㄹㅁ Full removal is possible, but they said they don’t strongly recommend it. They have ultrasound here, so I definitely recommend going. They found the reason why my nose is bulky. They said ear cartilage is placed on both sides.. So not in the center of the nose, but on both sides.. They said they don’t know why it was done that way. The director touched my nose the most and examined it carefully. They explained things well too, and were gentle and nice.
The end.. It’s too long, right I wondered if I should split it into two posts, but I thought it might be annoying to go back and forth when replying to comments, so I just wrote everything all at once. I wrote mainly about each clinic’s characteristics and the directors’ styles, hoping it helps when making a consultation list!!!!!! As for the prices!!!!!! Strangely, they were all similar. All in the 4 million won range. I almost didn’t go to ㄱㅇㅅ because of the price, but ㄱㅇㅅ came out cheaper than ㅅㅅㅇ.. Ask me if you’re curious about anything! I wrote this diligently because I thought it might help someone. My fingers hurt so bad. I should’ve done my school assignments like this, damn. I still haven’t decided on a clinic, but I’m going to think about it more and make a reservation sometime tomorrow..!
