It has been 6 months since I had double jaw surgery and contouring surgery type 2 (square jaw + chin) at Yi Oral Surgery for an underbite, facial asymmetry, a long face, and malocclusion! Time really flies. I am still continuing orthodontic treatment, and right after surgery my dental midline was well aligned. Now, during the orthodontic process, it feels like I am realigning it again, so I am not too worried and am going through treatment normally There are still some parts in recovery. Eating is much easier than before, but meat is still hard to manage, so I am not eating it well yet. Still, I think it will get better with time.! Personally, the change I am happiest about is my lips! Before surgery, the wrinkles on my lips were so severe that I even considered lip filler, but after surgery my lips naturally relaxed, and that thought completely disappeared! I do not really know why, though.. As the balance of my face changed, my lips also feel much more natural~ But for the better, most people think I only had orthodontic treatment unless I tell them first. Because it does not show too much, I actually feel even more satisfied. More than anything, the biggest unexpected change has been my health. Before surgery, I had indigestion and headaches all the time, but now both symptoms are gone! Not only has my appearance changed, but my quality of life has improved a lot, so I am really satisfied! I am still in the recovery process, but even after 6 months, I do not regret deciding to have the surgery. I am looking forward to what changes will come once I finish the remaining orthodontic treatment and recovery ✌🏻
