It's been 7 days since the surgery now.. The eye-centering effect has almost disappeared. It feels less like my eyes moved inward and more like I'm a bit swollen.. Surgery method: To explain how my nose used to be.. The nostrils were narrow, and the tip of the nose was high and slim. But the bridge was really lacking. The space between the eyebrows was low, the nasal bridge was low too.. a saddle-nose style.. So I decided to leave the tip alone and raise only the bridge with silicone. Surgery process: 1) Disinfection The nurses came in and disinfected my nose and face. It felt just like washing my face..^_^ 2) Silicone shaping They held a pointed silicone piece up to my nose and carved it to fit my nose. At first it was a long piece of silicone, but after trimming it to fit my nose, it got smaller. 3) Anesthesia There were three ways to do anesthesia.. the painless anesthesia that's popular these days, the method of directly numbing the nose, and the nerve block anesthesia followed by numbing the nose that I had.. The nerve block anesthesia I received was done by first giving injections around the nose to numb it and make it tingly, and then doing the actual local anesthesia in the nose. The reason for doing it this way is that directly numbing the nose is very painful, I was told. It's the difference between being hurt mildly many times (about 5 injections) or being hurt strongly once and done with it. It seems like you just choose the method depending on the person. In my case, the anesthesia didn't work very well, so I got injected several times.. sob.. 4) Surgery They cut away tissue inside the nose with scissors and put something like a chisel inside and kept prodding around.. there was no pain at all.. but there was a sound like bone grinding. Some people said that sound was horrible.. but it didn't bother me at all. And then something happened and happened.. the doctor grabbed my nose and shook it. Then he showed me a mirror and asked whether that height would be enough. When I looked in the mirror.. I liked everything, but my eyes had moved toward the center. According to the doctor, that was because of swelling, and later everything would return to normal. So they just stitched it up and finished. They stitched about 4 times. 5) Pain Actually, it only hurts when getting anesthesia, and after that it doesn't hurt at all. Even when the anesthesia wore off, it didn't hurt at all. I'm really not exaggerating even a little when I say it didn't hurt at all. And I was worried I'd feel a foreign-body sensation in my nose, but there isn't any of that either. Very occasionally the nose feels tight, but that goes away in about 10 seconds. I also raised the space between my eyebrows quite a lot, but I can barely feel it. On the day of surgery: Aside from my eyes moving toward the center, there was almost no swelling. There was no pain either.. (maybe because of the painkillers?) Other than having my face wrapped tightly with bandages so making facial expressions was difficult, there wasn't any discomfort. 1 day after surgery: I worried I'd wake up in the morning and be badly swollen. So I looked in the mirror as soon as I got up.. and I wasn't swollen at all!! I was so happy I didn't even do cold compresses and just messed around.. But what happened? By evening I suddenly turned into a beast.. ㅡㅡ;; The space between my eyebrows was swollen too.. and my eyes were puffed up badly too.. I was startled and worked hard at icing it. Again, there was absolutely no pain. 2 days after surgery (now): There is a little bruising on the eyes and the tip of the nose. The bruised spots feel a bit sore.. you know that sore feeling when you get bruised from being hit? It's about that level. And it didn't swell any more. Maybe because I did cold compresses.. (sigh.. I should've been diligent about icing instead of being so restless.. then this wouldn't have swollen either.. ㅡㅡ;;) I just went to the hospital and got disinfected. They put some ointment on my nose.. according to the doctor, as long as water doesn't get into the nostrils, it's okay to wash my face.. I should take a proper shower in a little while~ To conclude: Above all, the nose turned out very naturally. The doctor said to just make it look natural, and even that seems to have a big effect. Looking at it now, if it had been raised any more, it probably would have looked awkward.. My nose is the straight nose most men want, the kind that stretches in a straight line from under the eyebrows to the tip of the nose.. haha The bridge is also thick, so even from the front it looks straight and extended~ The nostrils are narrow, and although the tip isn't a pointed tip, it's narrow enough.. it stretches straight all the way up to the space between the eyebrows.. kya kya kya Ah.. one more thing.. something I never even dreamed of before.. the area above the eyes has a shadow now..ㅎㅎ As the space between the eyebrows went up, the eyes beside it are getting shadows too.
