Double-Jaw Surgery Reviews@jaw-review

A face I’m satisfied with that changes day by day after double-jaw surgery!!! 1…

1-month review with Director Shin at EU Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery I had a really severe complex about my side profile ever since I was young ㅠㅠ! Maybe because my jaw protruded a bit, my face looked rough, and I hated having photos taken from the side. Especially when I sat next to someone I liked, I really tried hard not to let them see my side profileㅋㅋㅋㅠㅠ I kept getting stressed whenever photos or videos were taken, so I finally felt like I couldn’t live like this anymore. I made a big decision and chose double-jaw surgery. Honestly, aesthetics are of course important, but because it is a major surgery, safety was my priority. Like you often see stories about accidents during plastic surgery in the news or dramas, I strongly felt that the hospital I chose really had to be safe. While looking mainly for hospitals with a no-accident record, I came to know EU Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery. Even though the directors are still young, they have long experience performing double-jaw and facial contouring surgeries, and above all, their no-accident record made me trust them! And just as there are plastic surgery programs these days like Make Me Girl, they also had a history of appearing on the once-famous program Let Me In, so I felt it was a place whose skills had been recognized! From the consultation, I could really feel that the hospital system itself pays great attention to safety, so I chose it thinking, “This is where I’ll have my surgery”~! At 1 week after surgery, I had the inside of my mouth disinfected, had the stitches near my cheekbones removed, and also received laser treatment! The nurse said I could take short breaks while wearing the compression band, so I took it off for a bit. After doing that, I definitely felt like the swelling had gone down noticeably compared with the day before. Speaking became a little easier than before, but my pronunciation was still slightly slurred, and instead of nosebleeds, a little runny nose kept coming outㅠㅁ ㅠ Still, feeling with my body that I was getting better day by day made me feel much more relieved. At week 2, I finally had the stitches inside my mouth removed. Maybe because I had been so scared, it didn’t hurt at all compared with what I expectedㅋㅋㅋ! And I could finally brush my teeth, which I had been so desperate to do. They also said I only had to remove the wafer when eating or brushing my teeth, so I was truly happy ㅠㅠㅎㅎ Until then, I had only been eating things like New Care, milk, and soup, so I was really dizzy and exhausted, but I was so touched that I could finally eat seasoned porridgeㅎ The swelling had definitely gone down a lot, and when I removed the wafer, my pronunciation became much clearer, so I felt less frustrated when speaking!! Opening my mouth was still a little difficult, but this was a period when I could clearly feel that I was improving little by little every day. By around week 3, the discomfort I had been having, like ear fullness and pulsatile tinnitus, had almost completely disappeared!!! Sensation in the roof of my mouth had not fully returned yet, but it was recovering little by little. And as the swelling continued to go down, my facial contour started to show slightly, and seeing that change made the surgery start to feel real little by littleㅎㅎㅎ I still couldn’t chew, but I mashed and ate soft foods like silken tofu! And now, the long-awaited(?) 1-month mark. Finally! I can open my mouth enough to barely fit two fingers in! The swelling is going down, but I originally have a bit of cheek fat, so I don’t think it is extremely obviousㅎㅎ^^ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ These days, I practice smiling a lot while looking in the mirror, and the corners of my mouth lift much more naturally. Sometimes the sutured area feels slightly tight, but it doesn’t interfere with daily life. Most of all, a lot of facial sensation has returned, so these days I feel really comfortable! At first, I was very anxious because of the swelling, but as time passes and I see my face gradually settling into place, I’m so happyㅎㅎ It has only been one month and I’m already this satisfied, so I’m going to keep fighting the battle with time from here on! For those considering double-jaw surgery, if you prioritize safety like I did and carefully compare hospitals before choosing, I don’t think you’ll regret it! This concludes my 1-month review with Director Shin at EU Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery.
