Immediately after surgery, my face was very swollen and I also had pain, so honestly it was very difficult. Especially during week 1, the swelling was at its worst and I even had temple headaches, so I endured it while taking painkillers. Having a blocked nose and difficulty breathing was also one of the major difficulties, but as time passed, I gradually adapted. By week 2, the swelling started to go down little by little, and after the stitches were removed, I was also able to remove and put on the wafer. Meals became a little easier as I moved from liquid food to soft foods. At 1 month, I could eat most foods without much difficulty, and the reduction in facial length was visible to the eye. The cheekbones also went in naturally, and my face shape changed into a smaller, more three-dimensional one. By 3 months, my chewing function had recovered enough that I could comfortably eat regular foods like chicken or pork belly. I had no side effects at all such as a double chin or sagging skin, and the skin sensation that had been numb for a while after surgery gradually started returning. Around 6 months, people around me complimented me a lot, saying my face had changed dramatically. I also felt the change every time I looked in the mirror, and remembering the time when I lacked confidence made me feel deeply moved. My facial line became increasingly natural, and the swelling had almost disappeared, so I was able to fully return to daily life.
