3-Week Review After Silicone Removal

It has been 3 weeks since I had the silicone removed and the septal support lowered. About a week later when I took off the tape, my nose looked severely low around the glabella and nasal bridge because it was puffy and vague, and I had a very hard time because the tip was oddly high, bulging from the middle of the nose. Currently, as the nasal bridge is starting to show its contour, I can see my lovely nasal bridge (ㅎㅎ). My original smooth and slim nasal bridge and glabella have come back to life. It’s not raised like when silicone was in, but that area doesn’t look absent, and it is slightly and naturally lifted along with the nasal bridge. When I touch it, it feels soft and squishy, like muscle. I think this part will probably sink in after a month or two. Looking at reviews from people who had removal before me, most say it becomes lower around the 3-month mark, so this glabella that looks lifted now will probably disappear. The nasal tip, which had been relatively high and bulging, is gradually improving. It is not a nose that suddenly rises in a bulge toward the bottom anymore. Still, the nasal tip is still high. It’s just that the noticeably awkward aspect has disappeared. After removal, I met exactly 4 people. Two didn’t notice, and two, maybe because they knew I had removed it, told me the removed nose looked better. Maybe because my nasal bridge is slim, there is an optical illusion from the front that it doesn’t look that much lower. Plus, since the nasal tip is high right now, overall it must not look like a low nose. After about 10 days, once I stopped the medication, I started feeling pain. When I had revision surgery, I took medication for a week and didn’t feel pain after that, but this time there is mild pain. Starting from 2 weeks, a pulling and dull aching pain began overall from the nasal bridge, from inside. It feels like the tissues are finding their places as the contraction begins in earnest. It’s not painful enough to take painkillers. It’s mild pain that is enough to bother me. There is also a stiff feeling up to the dorsum of the nose. I’m not doing warm compresses. When I do a warm compress, my nose turns red and feels puffy and vague, so I’m just not doing it. When I go out, I always wear a mask. Those who have had removal, please make sure to wear a mask when going around. Around 10 days after surgery I went out, and I went bare-faced; at that time I felt my nose suddenly shrink. Then one side of the columellar open-incision scar sank in along the incision mark and became slightly depressed ㅜㅜ I’ve been applying Contractubex to the open-incision scar area from day 15. They told me this medication makes the skin thinner, so apply only a very small amount thinly and don’t apply it inside, but I’m also applying it thinly inside because I’m worried scar tissue will make the inside of my nose thick. For now, at the 3-week point, the stress about the appearance is gradually improving. But the anxiety doesn’t go away easily. When I had surgery, I saw the septal cartilage they harvested from me. The saying “knowing is a disease” is right. It was quite a large amount. Looking at what other people say, they say it was about the size of a pencil lead, and when they took it out it was really small, but mine is quite big ㅜㅜ As time passes, I’m trembling with fear that the support will be weak and it will become a saddle nose.
