It wasn't a huge concern since I was young, but I definitely had a complex about my side profile. Whenever I was photographed or looked in the mirror, I was bothered by it, and I kept slightly turning my head, which gradually became a subtle source of stress over time. In the end, after thinking it over, I decided to have surgery. I first came across EU Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery on YouTube. The before-and-after photos on their website were much more detailed than other hospitals, so I thought, ah, if it's here, the results will definitely be good, and I chose them right away. On the day of surgery, when I came to, it was already over, and because of the anesthesia, I kept feeling sleepy and breathing was uncomfortable, so all I could think was that I wished time would pass quickly. The next day, the urinary catheter was removed and I was able to walk little by little, so it felt somewhat better. My nose was still blocked, so breathing was uncomfortable thoughㅜ From day 3 after discharge, the swelling gradually started to come up. As soon as I got home, I practically lived holding on to cold compresses. Compared with days 1 to 2, I definitely felt like I was getting better, and that helped me endure it. On day 4, when I opened my eyes in the morning, it felt like the swelling had reached its peak, and from that day I started taking light walks. The swelling was still the same up to day 5, and since I kept eating only liquid food, I got hungry quickly and felt a bit drained. Still, because I needed to reduce the swelling, I rested and kept going on walks consistently. On day 6, I felt the swelling had gone down slightly compared with the day before, and as the bruising became lighter and seemed to move downward, I felt a little better at least. On day 7, it seemed like the swelling had gone down a bit more, and maybe because it was the day of my hospital visit, I felt good for no particular reason. I also raised the intensity of my walks a little, thinking I should reduce the swelling more. In week 2, the hospital said I needed rubber band fixation, so I was tied up for a week, and I really couldn't even talk properly. It was so hard... At this week's visit, I also had the stitches removed, and hearing that I was "recovering well" put my mind at ease somewhat. In week 3, I could definitely feel that the swelling had gone down a lot in the afternoon or at night, but in the morning it still felt somewhat swollen, so I thought I should manage it even more diligently! At 1 month, inflammation developed around the gum screws, so I struggled a little because of the pain, but fortunately it settled down quickly hahaha! Most of the major swelling had gone down, and only minor swelling remained, so I focused on recovery, hoping it would go away quickly :) By month 2, as time passed, I could definitely feel the swelling going down, and I had gotten used to the braces too, so apart from some slight discomfort when eating, there was almost no difficulty in daily life. By month 3, my face no longer swelled much even in the morning, and I had adapted a lot to the braces, so I was living almost the same life as before surgery. I was eating well too, so my weight was slowly coming back. Now I'm planning to start exercising again!! . From month 4, I could feel my body gradually recovering. Almost all the swelling was gone, and when I looked in the mirror, I could see a natural appearance, so I was very satisfied. I was also completely used to the braces, so speaking or smiling became natural without discomfort. I could enjoy meals with almost no restrictions, and my weight was returning to normal, so now I'm taking care of my health while exercising too. From this point, I felt like I was living a daily life almost similar to before surgery. At month 5, my body felt even more stable, and the swelling was almost completely gone, so whenever I looked in the mirror, it felt so natural that I thought, this is my face now. People around me also told me a lot that it looked natural and suited me well, so I felt really good hehe! I was completely used to the braces now, so there was no awkwardness at all when speaking or smiling, and I was eating well without discomfort! As I started exercising again in earnest, my condition has been improving day by day! - From month 6, it really felt like I had entered a fully stable phase, and people around me said my face looked so natural that they couldn't tell I had surgery anymore. There was no discomfort at all when eating or talking, my weight recovered, and my stamina came back as I exercised. - By months 7 to 8, rather than feeling like I was still recovering, it felt like my daily life itself had completely returned, and I could eat freely, smile naturally, and I am building a healthier body through exercise. - By month 9, my face felt much more familiar than when I first had surgery, and every time I looked in the mirror, it looked natural and satisfying, so I really feel that having surgery was the right decision. Now it feels completely settled!!! I am really satisfied with my recovery process so far, and I want to keep maintaining my current condition while managing myself in an even healthier direction. For those considering double-jaw surgery + facial contouring surgery, I recommend EU Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, and I hope my review has been a small help!
