Even into my mid-30s, I still didn’t like taking photos because of my face shape, and every time I looked in the mirror I felt stressed, but I thought it wasn’t to the point of having surgery that touches the jawbone, so I just lived with it ㅠ Wondering if there might be even a little effect, I had orthodontic treatment and meridian massage along the way, but of course the fundamental cause wasn’t fixed, so I wasn’t satisfied. After looking through many surgery reviews, hospital information, and so on, and thinking about it enough, I ended up visiting Yang Yoon-dol, an oral and maxillofacial specialty clinic. Since I live outside Seoul and wasn’t confident I had the physical stamina to go around to many hospitals, I researched for a really long time and a lot, 1. an oral and maxillofacial specialty clinic, not a general plastic surgery clinic 2. a place with no side effects or accidents at all 3. pursuit of a natural face shape that isn’t excessive Based on these criteria, I finally decided on Yang Yoon-dol, and after the consultation, I even scheduled the surgery right away. What I was considering was a slightly asymmetric jaw, and if I got more ambitious, even my cheekbones, but as the director explained the changes that would happen if I also had orthognathic surgery while looking at bone images, I realized that the complexes I had were things that could be improved not just through facial contouring but through orthognathic surgery, so I took a life-level gamble and had orthognathic surgery + 3 types of facial contouring ㅠ Everyone said I looked fine, but whenever I took photos, one side of my jaw always looked long, and if the angle was even a little off, the asymmetry + peanut-shaped face + blunt and protruding chin tip + cheekbones always made me hate taking photos because of my face shape ㅠ After deciding on surgery, when I consulted about the look I wanted, I literally made materials in a PPT and sent them over.. Besides those photos, while looking at many review photos from ordinary people, I strongly said that I disliked an overly extreme V-line like this, and since my face was not going to become a celebrity-like face shape anyway, I wanted only to improve the complex areas within my own face shape. I heard they thought a lot about this part while designing the surgical plan. The day of surgery was really scary ㅠㅠ The first day I felt like I was going to throw up and it was so hard. Still, I was grateful that I survived a surgery I had done almost as if risking my life (?), and just hoped it turned out well.. Anyway, on the 2nd night/3rd day, I was able to walk out and be discharged on my own... The swelling did not dramatically go down enough for outside activities after one month like many reviews I had seen online, and on top of that, I started orthodontic treatment at the same time, so I think the unnaturalness was still more noticeable. Right after surgery, I was worried my chin had become too short, but as the swelling went down it got better, and because my lips looked too small and pursed, I later got lip filler additionally. As the swelling keeps going down and the orthodontic treatment finishes, it’ll become much more natural, right? Since after surgery I look in the mirror every day ㅠ I sometimes think, even if it looked like I had surgery, maybe I should have been a little more ambitious, or I feel disappointed that the asymmetry wasn’t completely improved. But seeing that everyone I meet says my face has become so much smaller and prettier, I think the surgery went well in the direction I wanted, so I’m going to wait slowly. There are so many posts from people who get a huge aesthetic effect after facial contouring, but for people like me who, rather than wanting a V-line oval face, only want to refine the current face little by little, I thought my case might be helpful, so I’m posting this. Everyone, please decide after sufficient consultation at a safe hospital with a lot of experience..!
