It has been 19 days since I had the ear cartilage and septal support strut completely removed. After the surgery, I had many cosmetic and functional side effects, so I had them removed after 2 months and 20 days.... Right now,, I’m satisfied with my choice and the results. In two days, I’ll be entering the 3rd week after removal. I’ll write down a few things people may be curious about. The swelling in my nose went down by the first week,, there is no nostril exposure,, no upturned nose,, contraction started little by little around the first week, so it feels firm in the morning, but it softens after washing my face with warm water, and the columella is a little recessed, but they said it will come back out once the contraction eases, so I think I can wait patiently,, Before stitch removal, I did cold compresses,, and after removal, I did warm compresses three or four times a day, and from around the 15th day, even doing it once or twice makes it slightly softer. Maybe the nerves inside my nose are recovering, because aside from an occasional tingling sensation, there is no notable pain at all,, The overall shape of my nose is much better after removal than after the surgery. The shape is definitely not strange. On the 10th day, I went to the removal hospital, and someone who had dermis done looked at my nose and said it was pretty... all I could do was give a bitter smile~ Thinking about how I wasted money on surgery, ruined a perfectly fine nose shape, and also damaged the function, leaving everything in chaos for 2 months and 20 days....ㅠㅠ When I went around to consultations looking for a removal hospital, everyone refused, saying that removal or revision surgery before 6 months would be dangerous. Even at the hospital where I had the surgery, they only said they would improve it with revision surgery, and then gave me a long list of scary things that could happen if I removed it! After the surgery, I couldn’t sleep for even a single moment without anti-anxiety medication, and because of the nasal bone osteotomy, my breathing wasn’t smooth either. Since they had arbitrarily shaved down and lowered the nasal bone between my eyebrows, the shape was also really.... After complete removal, my mind became calmer. I hadn’t even been able to swallow a spoonful of rice, but my appetite came back and I reached a normal weight again, and although it isn’t like the natural nose I was born with, seeing that other people say it’s pretty, my natural-looking nose after removal isn’t bad either. Everyone who has removal ahead of you! There was a time when I also went in and out of this community obsessively and read through all the reviews from years ago. Their experiences gave me a lot of courage and help in getting removal, but on the other hand, some parts also made me afraid. Still, I think those frightening outcomes are probably not common results. Maybe the result is good because my faith supported me...ㅎ I hope you take courage with positive energy and don’t be too scared.
