As of today, it has been 10 days since removal. Previously, my nasal bridge was shaved down, 1 mm of silicone was inserted, my slightly crooked nose was corrected a bit, and my nasal tip was raised with septal cartilageㅡ septal cartilage was also used in the columella. The reasons for removal were anxiety about the silicone, pain from cartilage protruding in two places, and discomfort and stiffness caused by the septal cartilage. During the removal consultation, I was told that if the silicone was removed, my nasal bridge line would become unevenㅡ that my nasal tip could go down or go up, that it was unpredictable, and that they could not take responsibility. I had never even asked them to put in silicone in the first place, and while they said nothing about the hospital’s responsibility for the protruding cartilage and pain, once I said I wanted removal, they listed off all the responsibilities I would have to bear. After thinking it over, I eventually had it removed at the place where I had the surgery. We talked about removing all of the silicone and the cartilage in the nasal tip.. However, they said they would not remove all of the cartilage in the columella area.. They said doing that would make the surgery bigger, so we talked about cutting out only the piece of cartilage placed between the columella and the cartilage that had been layered over it (is this what septal extension is?). For a few days after removal, my nasal tip was extremely swollen, and I understood what people meant when they said it looked like a swollen nose or a pig-like appearance.. I had gone through with the removal, but the shape was hard to handle, and I wondered if I would be okay living with this nose.. Honestly, I hadn’t taken into account that there was still a lot of cotton packed insideㅡ After the cotton was removed and the stitches were taken out, the swelling started going down slightly day by day, and now on day 10, I can go outside normally without feeling self-conscious. After removing the silicone, my nasal bridge is a bit lower than before because it had been shaved, but it doesn’t look strange.ㅡ Instead of being lower, the nasal tip has gone up. My old nose was a droopy, arrow-shaped nose. Even when I smiled, my nostrils didn’t show, so during surgery I had wanted my nasal tip raised slightly. When I look at people who have had removal, they say the nasal tip still looks a little lifted even after removal, and I don’t know whether that is the case for me too or whether it is because of the small amount of cartilage left in the columella. Since 5 days after surgery, I have been taking Rizaben twice a day, 1 pill each time.. So far, I don’t have any contraction or nose-tightening symptomsㅡ From reading reviews, some people say contraction starts from 2 weeks after removal, or after 1 month, or that for 2-3 months the nose repeatedly gets bigger and smaller, but I don’t know yet.. I hope it just heals quietly without that. For reference, I had both the surgery and the removal done with an open approach, but strangely, there isn’t much of a wound. During the first surgery, healing took quite a while, and it took some time for the incised area to go from red to white, but this time it really became okay quickly.. An ENT doctor knows that I had my nose implants removed, but didn’t even realize it had been removed through an open approach.. Maybe because it was the same area that had already been incised, my skin tissue had adapted.. Anyway, that’s how it is. Those thinking about removal, please use my post as a reference. It may still be early for me to say this, but I don’t think you need to worry too much about removal. I’ll post another review from time to time. Let’s all hang in there!!
