It’s day 6 after removal. I got the stitches removed from the opened incision area. The manager removed the stitches on my columella, and for me, I guess it had healed to some extent, because it didn’t hurt much when they were taken out. After that, she told me to come back in two days to remove the dissolvable stitches inside, but after a little while the director came in, touched my nose, and said that from about 2 weeks later, I should be able to make a pig nose, but for now, if possible, it’s better not to touch the nose too roughly until it heals, and that it would still feel hard. He said the dissolvable stitches inside the nose are in an area that is currently swollen, so the tissue is taut, which means there isn’t much space between the stitches and the flesh. So if the stitches are pulled out, it would hurt, and since they are dissolvable stitches anyway, if I wait about ten days they will naturally fall off or dissolve, so he suggested waiting. He said by then, there will be a little more space between the stitches and the flesh than there is now, so it probably won’t hurt much, and if they still haven’t dissolved after two weeks or they bother me, I can come in to have them removed. He told the manager to trim the dissolvable stitches inside so they wouldn’t show, then said to get home safely and left. The manager trimmed the dissolvable stitches inside short.
I was really worried that the columella area might become indented, but I don’t have any unevenness, only redness. They said when doing things like “ow-ah-hong,” it still hasn’t fully healed, so the wound could open, and not to overdo it until it heals a bit more. They told me to apply makeup while avoiding the columella area, and said there was no need to apply scar ointment.
As for scar tissue, along the open incision line inside the nostril where it goes upward, next to the dissolvable stitches, I’m not sure if it’s swollen, but there’s a small round raised feeling. I’m not sure whether this is swelling or scar tissue. It’s only been one week now, so I think I need to keep watching it for now.
And although they trimmed the dissolvable stitches short, because the color is dark, you can’t see them from the front, but from the side they look exactly like black boogers. I thought the columella area would bother me more, but if anything, this bothers me more..ㅜ_ㅜ I hope they dissolve and fall off quickly.
