3-month review after removal following nasal osteotomy

Hello!! Before my nasal removal surgery, I was worried, so I came to this community and read a lot of posts, but once I actually had the removal done, I stopped coming inㅠㅠ I had planned to leave a review too, but before I knew it, this much time had passed. At the end of January this year, I had rhinoplasty with osteotomy, 3.5 mm silicone, and ear cartilage for the nasal tip. But my nose seemed to look even more crooked, so I waited until the swelling went down, and eventually had removal surgery in July. At first, I decided on complete removal and went into surgery, but only the silicone was removed. I was told that if the nasal tip is touched incorrectly, it can look even stranger, and that in reality many people leave it as it is!ㅠㅠ What I was scared of was having my nose packed with gauze for a day and suffering from that, but the removal surgery did not require nasal packing! Just that alone made me feel like I could liveㅋㅋㅋ There was almost no swelling, and there was nothing like contracture!! I’m not an extremely sensitive person, so maybe I was just inattentive, but there was absolutely no upturning or anything like that!!ㅋㅋㅋ And... after surgery, I developed rhinitis, so breathing was really a bit difficult. After removing the silicone, the rhinitis also improved. At first, it was still severe even after removal, so I wondered if I would have to live like this for the rest of my life, but now it has improved a lotㅋㅋㅋ The rhinitis got better as time passedㅋㅋ I heard that silicone is also a foreign body, so some people develop rhinitis from it, and I was that case! I even went to Seoul National University Hospital because of the rhinitis, but they said it wasn’t severe enough to need surgery and told me to just live with itㅋㅋㅋㅋ After the removal surgery, I even developed panic disorder.. Because of the anxiety and stress of wondering what I would do if it didn’t go back, I eventually couldn’t endure it mentallyㅠㅠ But after 2 months passed, I overcame it myself, and now I’m enjoying each day. Since I didn’t remove the nasal tip, it is hard, but my nasal tip had been okay before the surgery, so there’s no differenceㅋㅋ It’s just that it’s hard...ㅋㅋㅋ Since removing the silicone made my bridge disappear, I have a wide area between my eyes again, but I find this natural and nice. Maybe thanks to the osteotomy, my nose is a little higher than before surgery and lower than after surgeryㅋㅋㅋ It’s almost similar to before!! My nose was not originally a wide nose, so I don’t think there is a very severe difference even with the osteotomy. I’m leaving this review because there weren’t many reviews after osteotomyㅠㅠ So I’m writing this in case there are people who are struggling with the decision. I’m sure everyone has a lot on their mind, but I hope you don’t get too stressed. If you have anything else you’re curious about, please leave me a message^^ I’ll be coming into this community for a while!!

Oh! For those with severe rhinitis, I boiled and drank elm bark tea for about 1 month after surgery~ About 6 cups a day!! I heard it’s not good to take it long-term, so I drank it for 1 month, and it worked well!! If anyone is considering rhinitis surgery, don’t just go to a local ENT and do it there. Take your diagnosis and go to a large hospital like Seoul National University Hospital or Samsung Medical Center and get examined again^^ My local clinic also suggested rhinitis surgery, but seeing that Seoul National University Hospital said I didn’t need it, I think it’s best to go to a large hospital first.

Thank you for reading this long post^^ If you have questions, please leave a comment or message~~ (The hospital where I had surgery removed it for free, so I don’t think it’s a good hospital to recommendㅠㅠ)
