Hello. I had a complex about my protruding lower jaw, then received two-jaw surgery and two types of facial contouring surgery (square jaw, chin) at Y Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, and now 3 months have passed, so I am leaving a review! Until 8 weeks after surgery, each passing day felt long, and it was a period when I gradually thought more about foods I wanted to eat than the discomfort after surgery. For 2 months, I ate different kinds of porridge and only consumed finely blended foods and drinks. Around the time my sense for spicy and salty foods had been resting, the period from 2 to 3 months was when I slowly returned to normal taste and meals. My taste buds, which had become very sensitive to spicy and salty foods as if I had returned to a baby’s palate, came back as I ate with my family againㅎㅎ For 2 weeks right after surgery, I slept sitting while leaning against the wall next to my bed, and breathing and taking medicine were uncomfortable. From 3 months onward, I could drink water well from a cup instead of a sauce bottle, and there was no more medicine to take.ㅠㅠ The day I removed the uncomfortable wafer felt really refreshing, and when I visited the hospital to have the stitches removed, I was already happy with a light heartㅎ_ㅎ As I got through those 3 months of recovery, I felt happy receiving back, one by one, the everyday happiness I had taken for granted~! After the stitches were removed, the skin inside my mouth was still recovering, so I carefully brushed with a baby toothbrush. I was worried that I might bleed inside my mouth or that touching the wound would hurt, but I think it only bothered me a little for the first 2 days after brushing was allowed! I realized how refreshing and happy it is to brush my teeth, not just use mouthwashㅋㅎㅋㅋ Between months 2 and 3, I became very interested in reducing swelling, so I applied warm compresses frequently. When eating outside, I still tried to choose foods that were soft and tender to chew. I sent messages to friends to check in, and it was a welcome period when I gradually enjoyed going out to meet friends outside my family. My friends told me my face had become really small, and many were curious about the surgery, asking whether it had hurt and so on, but I told them that thanks to anesthesia and my 2-night, 3-day hospitalization, the hard time had all passed and I had no painful memories. In reality too, rather than suffering because of pain, I struggled more with the discomfort of breathing or eating. As I watched myself in the mirror every day while the swelling gradually went down, I wondered, ‘Is all of it really gone?, It still looks a little round and chubby?’ and thought about how much more swelling would go down. But as I got toward the late 3rd and 4th months, the cute, hamster-like swelling disappeared, and a clear jawline was revealed beautifully. I am so satisfied because no matter what angle I take photos from, I can enjoy the moment of taking photos with people and spending time with them, rather than worrying about my jaw.
