Double-Jaw Surgery Reviews@jaw-review

I had surgery for a protruding chin and asymmetry

I think my concerns about surgery started when I entered high school.  After entering school and becoming close with friends, when I hung out with playful friends, we often talked about faces. At those times, one friend teased me by saying, ‘Your chin sticks out,’ and ‘Your chin is crooked,’ so at first I just laughed it off without thinking much of it. But the teasing gradually became more frequent, and the friends around me kept teasing me about my chin, so one day I took photos and videos of my whole face and checked. I flipped the photos left and right and watched the videos several times, and I realized that, just as they said, my chin was asymmetric and I had a protruding lower jaw. As I kept looking at the photos, it felt unfamiliar, and I even started disliking myself.  After that, it was really hard until it became a complex due to stress and lowered self-esteem. I couldn’t just stay like that, so I set a date and decided to visit a few nearby orthodontic dental clinics with my dad. The doctor looked at my teeth and jaw and said that if I got orthodontic treatment, my jaw would likely protrude more, and that I would probably need double-jaw surgery. I was so shocked after hearing that, so for a while I only looked up materials and videos related to double-jaw surgery. At first, it was hard to accept because I thought surgery was dangerous and scary. But as time passed, my complex became bigger than the danger or fear of surgery, so among several places, I decided to have double-jaw surgery and two types of contouring surgery, square jaw and anterior chin contouring, at Y Oral Surgery. Then the surgery day came. On the first day after surgery, I was extremely sleepy and my throat was dry, so I kept thinking that I wanted to drink water. On the second and third days, breathing was the hardest part. Even so, I tried to walk around inside the hospital more often and drink water while focusing on swelling recovery. And once you can drink liquids, they give you a protein drink, so make sure to drink it. At first I tasted it and it didn’t suit my palate, so I didn’t drink it properly, but after discharge, one early morning I woke up and went to drink water, and I collapsed. Please make sure to drink protein drinks and beverages with calories. As time passed, when the swelling got a bit severe, the swelling also became severe in my nose, ears, and throat, and breathing was the most uncomfortable at those times. Since it was hard to breathe through my nose, I kept my mouth open, and because the anesthesia around my mouth hadn’t fully worn off, I drooled often. Also, when sleeping, because of breathing and nosebleeds, I woke up once every hour, and I think that was difficult. I also couldn’t hear properly, so I often had to ask people to repeat themselves several times. When my throat was swollen and I was wearing the wafer, my voice also didn’t come out well. These uncomfortable points definitely improved gradually as time passed. Between 1 and 2 weeks after surgery, I focused as much as possible on swelling care with walking exercise and warm compresses. For walking exercise, I think I moved around a lot, more than 6 km a day.  And because I drank beverages and couldn’t brush my teeth properly, I also paid attention to rinsing my mouth so inflammation wouldn’t develop inside my mouth. After 2 weeks had passed after surgery and I was able to eat food, I ate soup or soft bread. The moment I tasted the first bite, I still haven’t forgotten that taste and the feeling of eating. At one month after surgery, when I touched around my chin, it was almost numb, so I was very worried. Now, about 3 months later, when I drink cold water or tap with my finger, it’s subtle, but I think I can tell that it’s gradually getting better. Now 3 months have passed, and after surgery my chin has definitely become much slimmer, and my protruding mouth looks more natural. The asymmetry in my side profile has improved a lot, and it looks better when I smile. haha When I meet people, at first some don’t recognize who I am, and many people seem flustered or mostly awkward. Before surgery, because of my complex, I actually used to look in the mirror often, but now I feel so good that I don’t feel bothered or stressed when looking in the mirror. It was so hard until 2 weeks after surgery, but now I’m living very satisfied!!! Sympathy emoticon Translating Do you want to scrap this review? +0 This is a surgery review pursuing natural beauty.
