Double-Jaw Surgery Reviews@jaw-review

I think my digestive system improved after double-jaw surgery too

Before surgery, I was always the slowest when eating with acquaintances, and even after chewing for that long, my digestive system wasn’t good, so I often got indigestion. These days after surgery, because my occlusion fits properly, food gets crushed quickly in my mouth even if I chew just a little. Before, I had lived like that my whole life, so I didn’t know it was a problem. In 2018, I was shocked by a diagnosis that I needed double-jaw surgery and got scared, so I kept putting it off. Then in 2024, I finally gathered the courage to have surgery at Y Oral & Maxillofacial Clinic, and had double-jaw surgery plus two types of facial contouring surgery (square jaw, chin). When I occasionally received comments on my appearance, I was told that my lower face was lacking, or that the lines looked somewhat sharp. These days, people say I look like I’m in my teens..(?) I have a much softer and gentler impression now, and my family, including my relatives, worried a lot and opposed it. But recently at my nephew/niece’s first-birthday party, all the relatives I met told me I did really well, and my family also says ㅋㅋㅋ now that I’ve recovered, this looks better and I did well ^^. I’m back to daily life, and I recently had my fixation pins removed at another hospital. Since you’re free to choose the hospital for pin removal, if circumstances don’t allow, it’s possible to do it at another hospital too. What changed in daily life is that there are definitely more people expressing interest in me, and I also worry much less about my chin looking protruded when I smile or get photographed. I gained confidence too, and I regret the past when I kept putting it off haha ; I feel like I should have done it sooner ^^ and enjoyed life more. I’m currently 6 months post-op, and for the surgical recovery period, from at least 3 months onward, you become able to eat most foods, and the pulling sensation also decreases a lot. You do need to put up with some discomfort during the first month. Once it reaches 6 months, it’s to the point that I just forget I even had surgery ; My satisfaction is 9.5 out of 10. The 0.5 points are because of the discomfort during the first month after surgery, and I think you can filter out a bit of the extreme news that says double-jaw surgery is always dangerous, purely for cosmetic purposes, and that people die while doing it. If you consider whether the doctor is an oral and maxillofacial surgery specialist, whether they have a lot of surgical experience, and so on, I think you can get sufficiently safe and satisfying results. I didn’t make any major requests and only hoped the surgery would be done naturally and healthily, and I think those points were reflected well. Thank you to Director Lee Seok-jae, as well as all the nurses and managers. (If you can receive help from family, it is much better to have a guardian with you for the first day or two after surgery.)
