Double-Jaw Surgery Reviews@jaw-review

Things to consider before getting two-jaw surgery, based on what I felt while going to consultations...

<1 month><3 months><6 months><2 years>----First, what I want to make clear at the beginning is that I’m not someone who unconditionally recommends surgery. Facial bone surgery has a lot of things to consider, you have to think about the recovery period, and you need to be careful when choosing a hospital. Because of those factors, I don’t want to recommend surgery 100% to every single person who is considering it. In my case too, it was a decision I made after a lot of thought and careful consideration.. Rather than only looking at the good parts of surgery, I hope people also look at the downsides behind it, so I’m going to write an honest review of my 2-year experience after two-jaw surgery. <Things to consider before surgery> -Two-jaw surgery is bone surgery, and you shouldn’t forget that. They dissect the fascia and suture it again.. fix the jaw. For a while, you can only eat thin rice gruel and can’t even chew. It’s very uncomfortable. -Depending on the surgical method, if orthodontic treatment is also needed, it can take quite a long time and require a lot of effort before you get the result you want. -Whether CCTV footage can be viewed, and whether the full footage can be viewed, to prepare for any unexpected situation. -Reducing a lot of length isn’t automatically a good thing~ If they just drastically reduce the length without thought, your upper teeth won’t show when you smile and only your lower teeth will show, which can easily make you look elderly. You need to do it at a place that plans it so that your upper teeth are exposed to some degree.. Some places don’t consider this and only obsess over how many mm they can reduce on CT, but please, please filter out places like that. -Don’t go to places that say sagging will 100% not happen. That’s all a sales tactic by scammers. Do it at a place that honestly tells you, “lifting or sagging management may be necessary after surgery, and after surgery, you may need continuous care as needed.” -If you’re thinking about two-jaw surgery, definitely look for a place with a lot of experience.. It would really be best if the director has also done many revision surgeries. (I think it’s also a good method to look specifically at oral and maxillofacial surgery from the very beginning.) Honestly, it’s been quite a while since I had surgery.. so I don’t remember every small detail^^; but roughly speaking, I think these were the important things I considered. Because of that, unless it was a large hospital or a dental clinic, I tended to feel somewhat hesitant about hospitals. (I did go for consultations too, but they didn’t feel very professional, and honestly, I personally consider two-jaw surgery a major surgery... I got the feeling I might be left unattended after surgery? so it felt a bit off. Also when the consultant recommended other cosmetic surgeries..) The number of surgical cases would also be important. So I ended up mainly looking at oral and maxillofacial surgery clinics. In the end, I narrowed it down to about 4 places. What I felt while going around for consultations back then was that <a place with many good reviews is not everything about that hospital>. There were places where the consultation quality was much worse than the reviews I had seen, and there were also places where the hospital’s first impression itself was not that great.. A place I booked after watching YouTube, but felt unsure about because there weren’t many reviews or much information, actually! felt like the real deal during the consultation. Reviews are so subjective by nature, and it will vary a lot from person to person, and there are probably many ads too. To distinguish those things, you need to have a lot of knowledge yourself. If you don’t know much and lack information, you can’t really filter things out. So what I really want to emphasize is <when you’re unsure, go in person and do the legwork>. hahaha Going to one consultation in person is better than researching online 100 times, seriously. Ah, maybe 100 is too much.. 10 times? haha.. So I chose the place where, when I experienced it myself, the aesthetic sense matched best with what I had in mind, and where they recommended only what was necessary without upselling. (When I went to a general plastic surgery clinic, they even recommended double eyelid surgery, which was ridiculous. I said I had no concerns about double eyelid surgery, but they put it in the chart, saying ptosis correction would make the change with my face shape more definite. I felt offended, so I rushed through the consultation and removed it from my candidates.) There was one place that I clearly felt set on, so I had surgery there, and now that it’s been 2 years, I really, really don’t regret the surgery itself. I had two-jaw surgery + 2 types of facial contouring, and the overall length was reduced by about 5 mm? (I had 3 mm chin advancement while doing two-jaw surgery.) The masculine-looking impression that was one of my complexes has been corrected, and I feel like I’ve changed to look a bit more feminine, so that’s the part I’m most satisfied with.. (I didn’t like how my side profile looked too heavy? in terms of the facial line lol.) I think one of the biggest satisfactions is being able to show my face more confidently when taking selfies or going outside. Apart from how hard the first 2 weeks were, waiting for the swelling to go down until 6 months can be difficult if you find it difficult, but because it was a surgery I chose while accepting even that process, I tried to think as positively as possible and did a lot of mind control so I wouldn’t worry or feel anxious about things that hadn’t even happened. Still, fortunately, by the 3rd month a lot of the swelling had already gone down.. I think I lived with a relaxed mindset, thinking I just needed to wait because time would solve it.. lol Since thinking too negatively didn’t seem good for my mental health, while the swelling was going down, I tried not to measure proportions unless necessary, and I didn’t look too deeply into whether things were symmetrical or stare closely in the mirror. Still, every time I went for follow-ups, the hospital checked carefully and told me that I had relatively little swelling and was recovering well, so I remember feeling reassured. Before, I almost never took side-profile selfies, or even if I did, I used Photoshop to push my jaw back, but now I confidently take photos even with the default camera and confidently upload originals. I’m living with genuine satisfaction. (Even if I could go back to before surgery, I think I would do two-jaw surgery again at the same place. I’m on the tall side, and after surgery I’ve heard a lot that my proportions are really good, and personally I think of it as a life-changing surgery haha.) I was already on the slim side, and after surgery I’ve been strict about weight management, so I haven’t felt any sagging so far, but no one knows the future, so I’m planning to keep managing it thoroughly~ I’m not the type to recommend surgery to people around me, but if there’s anyone who wants to become pretty in an almost unbeatable way at least once, or wants to dramatically reduce their face shape.. Still, I think it wouldn’t be bad to go for a consultation at least once^^!. Then I’ll end my review here. If anyone has anything they’re curious about, please leave a comment separately. Whether it’s about surgical information or concerns about recovery pain.. everything is welcome. When I was looking into surgery too, I was someone who just searched two-jaw surgery reviews on Google.. so I know how desperate information can feel ㅜㅜ I’ll reply with what I know! I can’t check often though,,,, lol Anyway, feel free to leave a comment!
