After worrying for years because of possible side effects, I got cheekbone surgery along with my revision rhinoplasty~ It is already day 6, and tomorrow I finally go to get my stitches removed!! I am dying to wash my hair already ㅠㅠ I live alone, so there is no one who can wash it for me... Honestly, I think this is the hardest part
I had quick cheekbone reduction + 45-degree shaving + revision rhinoplasty (septal cartilage, ear cartilage) + nostril lowering
Day 1 The surgery started at 6 p.m. and I think it ended about 3 hours later It was done under sedation, with incisions at the sideburn and scalp Honestly, it was not painless...ㅠㅠ For 2-3 hours after waking from anesthesia, my temples felt a bit stiff, like someone was pressing on them After I slept and woke up, it did not hurt at all If anything, the compression band made me so stuffy it was rough
Day 2 Since I did not only have cheekbone surgery, my facial swelling went up a bit The swelling was only around my forehead and eyes The eye on the side where my cheekbone asymmetry had been severe was a bit swollen Because my eye was swollen, I could not open it ㅠㅠ Still, I went to the hospital, got it disinfected, and had a swelling injection and swelling laser treatment And I walked for 30 minutes each in the morning and evening
Day 3 I think this was the day the swelling was really intense The swelling came down to my forehead, eyes, and cheeks. I was almost at the point of having a square face So I walked like crazy, 1 hour in the morning and 1 hour in the evening After that, my face seemed to get a little better, though still puffy like a squirrel I heard that if cheek swelling is left for too long, it becomes fat and sags, so even at home, except when applying compresses, I kept moving around ㅎ
Day 4, Day 5 My face still looked similarly squirrel-like, but I started to feel that the swelling in my cheeks had gone down a bit I kept walking 2 hours, wearing the compression band, and alternating warm compresses The cheek skin that had felt firm and tight in the deeper muscles seemed to soften a bit On day 5, I only had the cheekbone bandage removed, and that at least made me feel like I could live ㅎ But as soon as they removed the bandage, I was shocked when I saw the swelling at my temples...ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ I thought I had a Lego face..ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ
Day 6 I can feel the swelling and bruising moving past my jaw and down to my neck I am already stressed because my neck is short.. but because of the swelling, my face and neck have become similar in thicknessㅠㅠ Thankfully, after walking and checking the mirror in the evening, the neck swelling had gone down quickly The swelling in my face and deep cheek area has also gone down a lot, and overall I feel like I am starting to look human again ㅎ But my scalp is so.. so.. itchy I feel like I am going crazy I want to go get the stitches removed quickly tomorrow ㅠㅠ
Since I did not have an intraoral incision, there was not really anything uncomfortable about eating My throat only hurt briefly for about a day~
I am currently undergoing orthodontic treatment, so one downside is that I cannot brush thoroughly ㅠㅠ When I went to a pharmacy near the hospital, they gave me a toothbrush and told me to use the kind that orthognathic surgery patients use It was longer and thinner than a child’s toothbrush, so it was much easier to use ㅎ Please prepare one in advance
