Nose Re-Surgery@rhino-redo

I had full nasal implant removal + cartilage repositioning yesterday!

Yesterday, I had full nasal implant removal + cartilage repositioning. Honestly, until the day before yesterday... no, actually until yesterday morning, I really debated whether I should go or notㅠ_ㅠ

About 2 years before surgery? I noticed that the bridge of my nose was crooked.. and for the past few years, I felt like my nostrils were showing a little? Because of my hectic family members (big dogs), I was also worried about injuring my nose, and lately when taking photos, since I’ve gained weight, my face looks round, but only my nasal bridge looked so sharp and sleek... it felt really, really overwhelming ;;   So I decided to have it removed.

On the day of surgery, as soon as I arrived, they trimmed inside my nose.. and I had a brief consultation with the doctor. They were very, very kind. They asked what I was most worried about, and when I told them, they wrote notes on paper and said I didn’t need to worry too much. They reassured me^^

I had sedation anesthesia. It took about an hour?? (not sure). I’m extremely scaredㅠㅠ The nurses at the hospital are so kind....... There were two of them, and they were so, so kind. They really explained everything well, helped me relax, and even joked with me ^^;; Thank you so, so muchㅜㅜ

After going into the operating room, they disinfected my face and placed a pad over me with only my face exposed.. The doctor came in, and the sedative anesthetic was put into the IV they had already set up. They said that because they were applying red antiseptic to my face, it might be uncomfortable if I opened my eyes, so I kept my eyes closed. When the sedative anesthetic went in, I saw a bright light... I thought I shouldn’t follow it(?ㅋㅋㅋㅋ), so I struggled a bit... I remember the very end. I could hear them stitching, but I truly felt absolutely nothing.  I’m very scared of things.  If I’m saying it was okay, then it really is okay. Scaredy-cats, trust me.

Then I was moved to a private room and received an IV. I think they said it was a painkiller?? Some people said they felt dizzy after surgery... But I even took my phone out of the locker, called my mom, and KakaoTalked with my friends.. that’s what I did. When the IV was almost finished, the kind nurse came in and explained everything very diligently! They showed me the foreign materials removed during surgery. Sob sob...... Contrary to what I had known, it wasn’t straight but a short L-shape.. and they said there was quite a bit of inflammation.

They said the total time (consultation + surgery + waking up from anesthesia) would take 3 hours, but for me it took 2 hours.

I came out with plenty of time and took the KTX back home.

So far, I have no pain.  I also have no bruising and no swelling. Though of course it may vary by person.

Instead, I’m someone with a lot of facial expressions;;; when I make a gesture of raising my eyebrows, my nose pulls sharply. I think I’ll need to calm my eyebrows down for a while.  It doesn’t go the way I wantㅠ ㅠ

Oh, they told me to use an ice pack for 3 days, but there’s been so little heat sensation that I’d forgotten until now;; I should do it, right? And both when I had rhinoplasty and when I had nasal removal surgery, I ordered pumpkin juice and have been sipping it. Two packs with every meal, sip sip..

Thank you for reading this long post... Thank you so, so much to all the many people I bothered before surgeryㅠㅠ and everyone in this community who comforted me! If you have any questions, please leave a comment!
