I first started at a university hospital in a regional area Because I changed where I lived, I ended up moving clinics once My orthodontic treatment is not completely finished yet, but I wanted to share what I have felt during treatment so far
The reason I got orthodontic treatment was protrusion of the upper teeth and Class II malocclusion. There were both occlusal and aesthetic reasons The professor in charge at the regional university hospital where I first started treated as conservatively as possible, so he said the upper jaw needed premolar extractions, but lower-jaw premolar extractions were not necessary (though borderline). I had only two upper premolars and four wisdom teeth extracted and started orthodontic treatment But then, what do you know, because the lower teeth had no space and could not move backward, the upper teeth also got caught on the lower teeth, so there was a limit to how much they could be moved backward. The teeth did straighten out neatly, but they were still sticking out, and I was in a situation where I looked even worse... Around then I came to Seoul, so I moved dental clinics. At the clinic I moved to, they immediately said, if you want to become prettier, you also need to have the two lower premolars extracted as well I am not very afraid of dental treatment, so I said let’s do that. Since the clinic’s concept was definitely different, they put much more importance on cosmetic results, and the treatment was more aggressive, like placing several screws But now I hear a lot that I have become much prettier.. even though I have not even had the braces removed yet The total treatment period increased and it cost more money too, but I do not regret changing dental clinics. I think each person should clearly know what they want and find a clinic that suits them
Instead, during orthodontic treatment, even if you neglect brushing just a little, your gums get much worse. I think you really have to manage them diligently
