Review on day 5 after removal surgery

Before <natural nose (it was so long ago that I don’t have proper photosㅠㅠ)> <surgical nose> After <day 5 after removal (after taking off the taping)> I’m writing this on my phone, so please understand about the photos~ I had the taping removed today. I had nose surgery 6 years ago, and I had 4 mm silicone removed, septal cartilage removed, and cartilage repositioning done~

My natural nose was bulbous, but my nostrils didn’t show, and I never particularly thought my nose was short. But after surgery, it felt like my nose gradually became shorter, and I was stressed because my nostrils started showing, so I decided on revision surgery. Since I live outside Seoul, I was researching revision surgery online really hard, and I found out about a community site, where I learned that removal was also an option.

On other cafes or apps, removal surgery isn’t as mainstream? as revision surgery, so I hadn’t even thought of it, but here it was pretty popular.. haha As I read many review posts here, I also started thinking positively about removal, and after researching hard for about one or two months, I finally got it done on June 2 ^0^

Actually, in my case, I didn’t have severe contracture, I didn’t have inflammation or feel any foreign-body sensation, and I went ahead with removal surgery simply because I didn’t like my shortened nose and visible nostrils. Usually in cases like this, many people get revision surgery, but honestly I think I was tired of having a surgically done noseㅠㅠ Of course I looked into revision surgery too, but the absurdly high price and the excessive use of cartilage felt burdensome, and I had also quietly been bothered for a long time that I couldn’t make a pig nose.. Even if I had revision surgery, there was no guarantee it would turn out 100% well.. Several things together pushed me toward removal surgery haha I think my thought was, even if my nose gets lower and uglier, I’ll remove it first and just live while getting filler instead!

Anyway, in the end I had it removed.. I live outside Seoul and I’m a new working adult who feels burdened taking vacation, so I couldn’t even think of going around to consultations. I just read reviews diligently, chose one hospital, had a same-day consultation, and had surgery right away. Maybe because it was same-day consultation and surgery, when I first saw the director I had planned to say, “Please improve my shortened nose, make the blunt nasal tip slimmer with cartilage repositioning, and make my nostrils not show~” But once I actually went, I was so out of it that all I managed to say was, “Please make my nostrils not show”ㅠㅠ Oh, and about the blunt nasal tip, I think the director first looked at photos of my natural nose and explained that if my natural nose itself was blunt, then there wasn’t much to do. To make that part slimmer, cartilage would have to be used or something, but I didn’t want that.. so I said I would just give up on having a slim nasal tipㅎㅎㅎㅎㅎ

Then I went into surgery, and the director woke me up in the middle of the surgery... It was a bit shockingㅠㅠ Until now, I hadn’t felt any particular discomfort with my nose and had removal surgery only because of the aesthetic part, so I didn’t know, but the inside of my nose was more serious than I thoughtㅠㅠ They kept taking photos, so I wondered why, and after surgery they showed me each photo and explained. My septal cartilage was contaminated and could no longer be used, one side near the alar cartilage seemed to have been compressed by the silicone and was almost sunken.. the septal strut, should I call it that? Anyway, that area was also crooked, and the capsule was severe.. It was truly a total messㅠㅠ Still, somehow the surgery ended, and I came home, had nasal packing for two days, then removed the cotton by myself at home (actually the director said one side, the side in bad condition, had to stay packed with cotton for a week, but I forgot and removed it because it was stuffy). On day 3 I also removed the splint myself, taped it myself, and today on day 5 I went to the hospital, had the stitches removed, and got taped.. I am a bit worried about the side where I removed the cotton too early, but after taking photos I’m fairly satisfied lol

First of all, the most important part, the short-looking part, seems to have improved a lot (I didn’t even mention this during consultation..). Of course, I can’t be sure yet because of swelling.. Wouldn’t it get even better once the swelling goes down?.. Or maybe it will shorten again... Since I’m only on day 5, I can’t be sure about this eitherㅠㅠ There is still a lot of swellingㅠㅠ and bruising tooㅠㅠ The front view is really hard to look at.. The nasal tip is completely blunt and square, and my nose is so chubbyㅠㅠ It... it will get better, right? haha

Today I got a one-month prescription for Rizaben, so I need to manage it well~ I’ll keep posting reviews from time to time! Before surgery I got a lot of help and information here, so I decided that if I had surgery, I definitely had to post a review. I’ll try to write reviews as diligently as I can~ Somehow this post became long, but thank you for reading this long post~^^
