Nose Re-Surgery

7-Day Review After Full Removal, Detailed Review

<Before my original nose><Before my original nose>After<nose surgery done>Before<Now, day 6 after full removal. I feel insane. It’s funny but sad and depressing and funny. I’m in a crazy state of wanting a revision...>Hello. Honestly, I felt embarrassed to write something like this, and I worried that what if someone recognized me. The truth is, when the nose surgery went wrong.. I think everyone feels the same. I felt like I would die if I couldn’t take it out, I didn’t want to look in the mirror, it felt like everyone passing by was staring only at me, when I took photos I didn’t feel like myself, I wanted to become naturally pretty, but I hated my surgically altered face to death, I was anxious because of the foreign-body sensation... and scared that it might go wrong. Why did I waste money and go through this hell for no reason? What crime did I commit? So many thoughts went through my head. Of course, there are people who are very happy because their cosmetic surgery went perfectly. But the feeling after surgery when it goes wrong.. It’s impossible to put into words. Only people who have been through it would understand. Every day is really hard, I cry while looking in the mirror, money keeps going out, and suddenly, after the surgery and after the splint came off, I thought I had gone back to before, it was terrifying.. Anyway, when the splint came off, honestly I was shocked. Wow, it’s way too high, what is this? But I naturally thought it was swelling. The more I thought about it, the more I felt that at least 1 cm, no, about 2 cm, needed to come down from here, but I didn’t think it would come down. So I went to the hospital that did my surgery and cried, asking them to remove it at the 2-week mark. At the hospital, they said it was swelling. The director said it was swelling. My friend said it was swelling. Everyone said it was swelling. They said it would suddenly go down after a month, and that it would shrink even more later. So I thought, fine, let’s endure it again. I didn’t even go around the neighborhood, and even when I went out just to get coffee, I went far away... to a place where no one knew me... for a month... Strangely enough, around the one-month mark, it did come down, really it did. But as the swelling went down, the tip only became sharper and sharper... Even if it came down, it really needed to come down a lot more, and even if all the big swelling was gone and only the residual swelling was left, it was still really over the top. I looked like Pinocchio after cosmetic surgery. My forehead was a bit prominent too (not operated on) My eyes were on the larger side too (very slightly) And my face shape was a bit chubby, but basically between oval and round. So even if my nose was blunt, I didn’t have a face that looked overly surgically altered at all, but after the nose surgery, my whole face looked like I had done my eyes, nose, and forehead all at once. Back then I didn’t realize how precious a rounded nose was.... So after waiting a month, I started going around to removal clinics. I made a lot of calls trying to get consultation appointments.. but at about four places they said they couldn’t even do consultations within six months. I felt truly hopeless, wondering if even removal wasn’t something I could choose freely. Then I was able to get consultation appointments at two places, so I went. At the first clinic, the director was very confident. He was kind, and while showing photos he said I could have a pig-nose shape and the exact nose shape I wanted, that he could do it all, that he could lower the silicone and refine the tip shape without it collapsing. I asked, “How can you make the tip not collapse?” He said he would handle that himself. He spoke kindly and seemed really confident, which was surprising. Then I talked with the coordinator, and the cost was 4.4 million won...? I had only recently had nose surgery, and that had already cost several million won, so it felt excessive. And then the second clinic. It was a short consultation with the director, but he told me that if I left it like this it would get even more pointed, just like the first clinic said. And in my case, it wasn’t such a difficult surgery, so it was possible, but I had to remove it quickly or else I would have to wait more than six months, he said. Revision surgery felt too burdensome, and honestly removal surgery was burdensome too, but I was somehow able to gather enough for the removal surgery cost alone (in the 2 million won range). So at the second clinic I just decided, let’s remove it, and booked the date. On the day of surgery... when I arrived at the hospital they told me to wash my face, and I cried while washing my face. They told me to change clothes, and I cried while changing clothes.. I cried while lying on the operating table... then I went under sedation anesthesia, woke up in the middle, chatted with the director during the surgery, and thankfully woke up safely. I came home. Even with the splint on, I was more swollen than I expected And the side profile seemed fine, so I felt relieved. It didn’t rise or collapse. But when the splint came off and I looked, the nose was really... gone. It had just disappeared. Gone with the Wind, literally. There is nothing between my eyes where the nose should be. It was shocking. The coordinator said that after removal I had mostly returned to my original nose, but I quietly said... this isn’t my nose. Thinking about it now, it’s funny.. It wasn’t my nose. The reason I had surgery in the first place was that my actual nose was still somewhat high, even if it wasn’t really straight and tall. From the front it was blunt, but in real life no one ever said, wow, her nose tip is blunt. But in photos only, it gave a fist-nose feeling.... So I had the surgery, but now after removal it feels even blunter than the blunt nose I had before surgery? I didn’t really understand the phrase “tomato tip” here, but now I understand what it means. My nose is a cherry tomato now. For those who had removal surgery, when does this cherry-tomato swelling go away? Honestly it’s so funny, I look like a clown nose... I’m really going crazy and thinking maybe I should get revision surgery, but looking at my face now I like it, and I’m scared it might change suddenly again... I’m thinking maybe I should just wait and only do the bridge at 1 mm... but if it’s only 1 mm, they said I should just get filler in the bridge instead... so I’m torn. I think the prettiest I looked was when I had filler in the bridge from my original nose, so I want to go back to that again. Sigh. This has been my 6-day review so far. There are many people here who are struggling like I was before removal, so I’ll keep posting progress updates. Please tell me when the cherry-tomato tip swelling goes down. Everyone who will become prettier in the future we need your comments!!
