This is a review I’m writing after two months. To list my symptoms: 1. The nasal tip is still very hard (it was so hard that I wondered if they had not removed all the implant, but it has gotten slightly better) 2. Until about two weeks ago, it hurt if I touched the nasal bridge the wrong way 3. The pain is really, truly decreasing very slowly. It only recently became almost painless when touching inside the nose with a cotton swab! 4. My nostril wings kept alternating between being very hard and soft, but since two days ago they have stayed a bit softer 5. There is a smell inside my nose (much less than before removal), but it seems like the smell is because I can’t pick or clean my nose like my natural nose, so since about 3 weeks ago I’ve been cleaning it with saline. 6. Before removal, the cartilage showed through at the nasal tip, making two round whitish spots visible at the tip. Since the skin had already become thin, it is still the same after removal. Please refer to the last photo 7. The long area of pigmentation on the columella from continuous pressure by the implant is also still the same after removal 8. The feeling on the nasal bridge like a plaster pack is stuck there, with the skin and bone stuck together, is gradually improving 9. I feel like I haven’t really gone through much of a contraction phase. I did have symptoms like tightness or pulling in the nose, but externally my nose has not turned upward 10. The difficulty breathing after removal was a blocked feeling early on after splint removal, when there were still scabs inside the nose. The bulging scar-tissue-like areas inside the nose have gradually decreased over time. I can breathe really well now. Before removal I did have some scar tissue too, but I could breathe well then too.
Before removal, I was worried it might collapse, but thankfully, so far I’m recovering without any major problems. I thought it would be over right after removal, but I still have some lingering anxiety just in case. Like, it’s okay now, but what if it gets worse later, and so on... But as I watch my nose gradually recover, I’m practicing letting go a little.
Ah!!! And until the one-month mark, when I saw my nasal bridge from the side, I thought, ‘Oh, I do have some bridge height?’ It was swelling. It was a false dream lolololololol There are probably quite a few people who saw their nose right after the splint came off at one week and thought, oh, this is between surgery and my natural nose? But if you compare my 3-week photos and current review photos, you can clearly see that both the glabella area and nasal tip get lower lololol gloomy lol
If you have any questions, please ask in the comments. And as I wrote in my previous post, please don’t ask questions like whether I’m not worried about the sense of loss, or whether I’m not worried it might collapse if I do complete removal. - Sense of loss and concern about collapse - I was extremely worried about both, but because of various side effects I was in a situation where I wanted to do something, and in the end I leaned more toward complete removal, so I decided to overcome the sense of loss by thinking only positive thoughts. As for worrying that it might collapse with complete removal, I just decided to think positively that if the removal is done well and the capsule is also removed well, things will be okay, and I trusted the doctor who said so and went ahead with it!
I’ll say it again..!!!!! I can’t really recommend whether you should do removal or revision surgery, but whatever you choose, I hope you decide carefully and have surgery!!
