My face is a lemon right now I think it’s because the Gore-Tex was removed The swelling on my nasal bridge is huge, and around the nasal tip too
I don’t know how I lived for the two months before removal I would wake up suddenly while sleeping.. After removal, I feel like my mind is more at ease than before, but then I worry about the contraction phase, wonder “is this scar tissue?”, get shocked by the shape of my nose, and think, where on earth is the end of this... once I get anxious, it’s hard to calm down easily
I had old Gore-Tex, ear cartilage, AlloDerm (I found out during removal), and septal bone, not septal cartilage, removed (I thought it was septal cartilage, but they said I didn’t have much septal cartilage, so it seems they used bone as support)
My claustrophobia is severe, so even before surgery I was terrified of the nasal packing, and I asked them to remove the nasal packing after just one day After the packing was removed, I felt like I was just about to die because of the splint, and when I scratched the itch inside the splint with something like a toothpick, it felt very slightly refreshing, but that lasted only a moment... After a bittersweet week of having to try to forget the splint rather than the removal surgery, I ran to the clinic before it was even 10 o’clock I got swelling-laser care, had the intranasal dissolvable stitches removed except for three or four left, and got rid of the splint that felt like it would stay stuck on for life Rather than being shocked by the nose shape, I felt so relieved
I wrote down the reasons I had no choice but to remove it, in preparation for moments when I might regret removal, and I’m going to read them whenever sadness washes over me while looking at my low nose
*I can’t live my whole life with adhered Gore-Tex stuck inside *The white foreign material seen in the columella on CT (I never imagined it was septal bone) *The nasal tip had shifted to the right, and the columella was also crooked with it *The hard nose makes me nauseous *Even if it’s low, I want a round, cute nose
If there are people who had removal before me, please let me know~
How much lower does it get from here, especially the nasal tip? The bruising has turned bright yellow. Do bruise creams work? If I want it to go away naturally, should I just wait another week or two? They say taping helps swelling. Would it be okay to keep it on for about a week? They told me to start taking three tablets of Rizaben a day from tomorrow. Is this medication really hard to take? Do I have to take all 3 tablets regularly?
Even after removal, I still have so many questions I used to wonder why people still came into this community even after removal, but now I understand
My wish is to go back to the exact state of mind I had just two months ago, when I didn’t know about removal and lived however I wanted without paying attention to my nose
