One-Month Review After Removing Septal Cartilage from the Nasal Tip

<(I don’t have photos of my original noseㅠㅠ) The top row is before removal, and the bottom row is after removal><One month after surgery: left photos are before removal / right photos are after removal><The nasal tip cartilage showed through like this>I wrote a 1-week review last time, but I received so many questions by message that I think I’ll only write up to this one-month review and then leave this community

First surgery: correction of a deviated nose, correction of a hump, rhinitis surgery, deviated septum surgery, lifting the nasal tip with septal cartilage obtained during deviated septum surgery, septal support strut Reason for removal: septal cartilage showing through and being palpable at the nasal tip Removal area: removed only the septal cartilage used to raise the nasal tip; left the support strut as is

-> The reason I left the support strut as is was that I didn’t want to worry about removing the strut and having it collapse again or become a saddle nose. At first, I regretted not removing the strut too, but as of one month now, I’m satisfied. I think not removing it was a good choice

I had it removed 2 years after my first surgery. I removed it because the show-through kept getting worse The surgery was done at the clinic where I originally had it done The cost was free, and I don’t know the exact reason either, but I think it was probably because the cartilage showing through had shifted to one side

After the removal surgery, they used dissolvable packing and dissolvable stitches, so at one week I only went to the clinic to have the taping removed On day 3 after surgery, I cried a lot for several hours (because of personal matters), but there was no problem at all Around 2 and a half weeks later, I drank beer and still had no problems.. but I think it’s better not to drink or smoke At one month, I can wash my face, blow my nose, pick my nose, sneeze, cough, and open my mouth without any problems Right after removing the nasal tip cartilage, the skin on the nasal tip returned to normal

Pros after removal 1. Psychological stability 2. Escape from the guilt of having had rhinoplasty 3. I really don’t feel any change in nose shape after removal 4. Maybe because the nasal tip cartilage that had shifted to one side made my deviated nose look worse, the current appearance of my nose looking crooked seems improved 5. If the foreign-body sensation was 100, removing just one piece of nasal tip cartilage reduced it to about 20-30; I barely feel any foreign-body sensation from the support strut 6. I think after about a year, I’ll be able to make a pig nose a little 7. Since there’s no show-through or palpable cartilage, I feel comfortable and happy 8. My nose was originally large and long, but after removal, people around me say it looks shorter and smaller

Cons after removal 1. Worry about having had nose surgery twice 2. Possible support strut issues (the clinic said the chance of a support strut problem is 0%, but still) 3. The foreign-body sensation from the support strut isn’t completely gone, so I used to regret not removing the strut too; currently I don’t

Other than that, there are no downsides If you’re thinking about removal, I really hope you do it

There was no contraction phase, and I didn’t feel like my nose became shorter But! Right after surgery, the nasal tip was very soft, and now it feels a little firm again It’s been a month, but there are still places that hurt if I touch them sometimes During my first surgery I worried a lot about things like this, but I know they all get better after 1-2 years, so I’m not really thinking much about it

I’m never getting nose surgery again I’m already a sensitive person, so the show-through issue was really hard for meㅠㅠ
