If I get revision rhinoplasty with silicone

As far as I know, they usually use silicone for the nasal bridge and rib cartilage for the nasal tip. For my first surgery too, I used silicone for the bridge and donated costal cartilage for the tip. I’m planning to use autologous costal cartilage for my revision this time, and I heard that because autologous costal cartilage is my own cartilage, it has far fewer side effects and is firmer than other materials, so it gives really good support. [@커피한잔안해] And as far as I know, using autologous costal cartilage for the nasal bridge too is only done when silicone can’t be used on the bridge because of reasons like contracture or inflammation. Usually the nasal bridge is mostly done with either silicone or no implant, I think?

Are you saying you want to do the nasal bridge with autologous costal cartilage..?? If it’s your first rhinoplasty, silicone is totally fine. I did my nasal bridge with autologous costal cartilage at RU because of contracture and inflammation... Please think it over a lot, like the person above said,,

No no no no, there are lots of people who do revision surgery with silicone too Usually the first surgery is done with silicone, but when doing revision with silicone too, a lot of people choose rib cartilage because they’re worried about contracture or side effects. It’s not that you must use silicone I decided to do mine with rib cartilage at O&Young, but silicone revision exists too, yeah

Autologous costal cartilage isn’t mandatory just because it’s revision surgery. I had revision rhinoplasty at LBR and used donated costal cartilage~ At least when choosing rib cartilage, I think the patient’s own will is more important than the clinic forcing it
