Before <before removal> After <after removal> After <after removal - 2> Hello. I went today to have the splint and stitches removed. Before surgery, I had firmly prepared myself to look worse, so even when I looked in the mirror, I was calmer than expected. The process I saw and felt was:
Day 1 - Significant nasal upturn visible below the splint Day 3 - Swelling at its peak Day 4 - The nasal upturn came down a little
Currently, after splint and stitch removal on day 7 My glabella was already almost nonexistent, but at a glance it has become considerably lower. For the nasal tip, they said that once the implant was removed, my nose was so~~ low that they pinched the tip a bit. Maybe because of that, the nasal tip is higher compared with the glabella. There are pinched marks, but I’m not very sensitive about that kind of thing, so it isn’t particularly bothersome. And I left the ear cartilage at my nasal tip in place. Maybe because of these two reasons, if my nose line before removal was straight-to-slightly-curved, now it is a semi-ski-slope shape. It still hurts when I touch it.. When I move around my mouth, there’s this numb, tingling feeling like something is embedded in the columella.. I don’t know if this is because it was tied, or because it was done open. If anyone knows, please tell me... I had not had columellar extension, and it wasn’t originally on the short side, so I don’t know about curling or that kind of thing. I don’t think the contraction phase has come yet.
When they opened it, as I had known, it was Silitex (Gore-Sili) that went all the way to the nasal tip, close to an L-shape, and they said that because the implant was bigger than expected and had been in for a long time, it was harder than expected to detach. They had previously mentioned the possibility of calcification, but there was no problem in that area, and there was no inflammation, so both the capsule and ear cartilage were left in place. The doctor said that the capsule and ear cartilage are both autologous tissue, so if they have not caused a problem, there is no need to force removal. There was no major issue, but they said there was just a lot of scar tissue. They said that because it had been compressed by a large implant for a long time, the airway for nasal breathing may have narrowed, and that when the swelling goes down, this part should improve too.
Many people say they look like a fish-faced person after removal, but maybe because my nasal tip was tied, I look more like a bird beak than a fish-faced person lolololololololololololololololololololololol I’m also trying to just accept this.. and not care too much. No matter how satisfying the result is, it’s true that a surgically enhanced nose is prettier, so I’m trying not to compare it to that nose. I’m attaching photos. I had it put in so long ago that I don’t have photos of my original nose. If I had to describe it, it was similar to IU’s old nose. Small, no glabella, low, but not particularly flawed or pretty either.. Since they pinched the nose, I think that feeling has disappeared. Has anyone who had their nose pinched had a numb, tingling feeling like something is embedded in the column inside the nose? Even if you didn’t have it pinched, if anyone who had an open approach has this symptom, please share tips.
