Phew, I had my first nose surgery around mid-July, but the nasal tip was too high and the foreign-body sensation was severe, so I had removal surgery after 2 weeks.
My original nose had issues of a severe hump + rhinitis + a drooping nasal tip that made my nose look long, and I wanted the hump removed and, even if it was low, a natural nose that would not look obvious. Every time I consulted at the clinic where I had my first surgery, I explained what I wanted... but the director just did it however he wanted;
So I looked into the three major clinics famous for early removal, had consultations, and got surgery at the place I trusted the most (ㄱㅇㅅ). For the first surgery, I had hump osteotomy + functional rhinoplasty + nasal tip elevation using septal cartilage. Since I had no functional problems after the first surgery, they removed the problematic septal cartilage from the nasal tip and performed nasal tip cartilage repositioning. Since they didn't know the condition of my nose, they said it had to be done with an open approach, and they informed me that after opening it up, if the nasal support structure looked weak or there seemed to be a problem, they might additionally use septal cartilage. During the consultation too, they drew pictures and explained everything so I could understand, so I think I was able to have the surgery without fear.
As a result, I am really satisfied that I had early nasal removal. I think it has returned about 90% to my original nose. (It is slightly shorter than my original nose. Since my nose was originally long, I am satisfied with this part.) As each day passes, the swelling is gradually going down more and the shape is settling. It is definitely more comfortable to move my face than before too. They rebuilt the septal support strut only enough so that it would not collapse, so the columella area is slightly firm. Maybe it is the contracture phase, but the nasal tip is also a bit firm... Still, it has not lifted up. They said that even if the contracture phase comes, they will teach me massage methods and warm compresses, so I do feel reassured. The director carefully checked on me before surgery, after surgery, and at postoperative visits, and all the nurses are kind. Even when I ask questions through KakaoTalk, they explain things in detail. I was really stressed before early removal, but thanks to them, I am now living comfortably..
