Extremely personal Except for the ones I marked in parentheses, they’re all in Sinsa! I really had no interest in plastic surgery, then suddenly made up my mind, so I honestly didn’t know anything. Even though I think I looked up as much as I could before going for consultations, I still don’t really know.. I only looked at the doctors’ review photos, consultation reviews, and so on, and decided I should at least go.. I made reservations at about 10 places over 2 weeks, but only managed to go to 7 of them. Actually, I still have one left, but I’m exhausted..
First, my condition: thick skin, completely no double eyelids, and severe epicanthal folds. The line I want is a natural in-out line, and I was only thinking of incision + upper epicanthoplasty.
1.ㅍㅇ (Sinsa) (Incision, ptosis correction, upper/anterior/upper epicanthoplasty needed for the line I want - I said I wanted the in-out line from an IU photo)
Consultation manager - doctor - manager The doctor was cheerful, the manager was kind, A/S for 1 year, No cost for aftercare - anytime Sedation + local anesthesia, they wake you up midway to check If doing incision, major swelling lasts about 2 weeks?
Overall, the atmosphere was okay and the line they held was okay too, but since it was my first clinic, I was thinking I’d visit more places. Now I don’t remember it very well. It wasn’t to the point that I was super drawn to it. Also, I didn’t know much about ptosis correction, so after going I looked it up, and I ended up not really wanting to do ptosis correction unless necessary.
2.ㄱㅎㅅ (Apgujeong) (Incision only) No need for ptosis correction
Consultation doctor - manager (Only here did I consult with the doctor first)
It felt like they held the line a bit roughly. My eyes are close together, so no epicanthoplasty! They’ll do it naturally on their own? They kept talking like this, saying they’d make it natural on their own! And as soon as I got there, they talked about my face. Overall image? They told me things like that and said no one in the world absolutely has to do surgery~ then showed photos of celebrities without double eyelids and said why haven’t people like this done it at this age~ Anyway, they were very confident.
Total surgery time 3 hours, anesthesia method - sedation anesthesia? I don’t remember clearly Stitches removed on day 5, visits at 1 month and 6 months A/S (period, whether there is a cost, cases eligible for A/S) 1 year
From the second place onward, the opinions differed, so I was mentally thrown off. And this place was too expensive, so it was eliminated..
3.ㅊㅇ (Gangnam) (Upper/anterior epicanthoplasty, incision, ptosis correction) Consultation manager - doctor - manager During the first consultation, they took photos with a tablet
The waiting time was way too long.... I came at 1:30, but because of surgery I waited two hours, so I was really exhausted
Surgery time 3 hours, Anesthesia method - sedation or local, Aftercare - swelling laser, swelling injections unlimited, A/S 1 year
Overall, the atmosphere was okay and the line was okay too
4.ㄸㅋ (Sinnonhyeon) (Anterior/upper epicanthoplasty, incision) No need for ptosis correction!
Consultation manager - doctor - manager They took photos with a camera The manager was kind, and the doctor seemed a bit busy, but only told me exactly what was needed They said a natural look is just right, and if I do something glamorous, the space between my eyes and eyebrows would get too narrow They said it was good that I wanted something natural
Surgery time 1 hour, anesthesia method - sedation or local Aftercare - continuous follow-up without cost A/S 1 year
5.ㅈㅇㅈㅇ (Sinsa) (Incision, ptosis correction, upper/anterior epicanthoplasty) Consultation manager - doctor - manager They said I don’t have much fat in my eyes Surgery time one hour Anesthesia method - sedation or local Aftercare - unlimited with no cost A/S - I didn’t ask
6.ㄴㅅㅎ (Sinsa) (Incision, ptosis correction, fat removal, epicanthoplasty) They held the line like an inner double eyelid and inline look They said an in-out line probably wouldn’t come out,, There was some pressure to book. Somehow I ended up making a reservation, then canceled it right away that evening Swelling injections three times A/S 3 years
7.ㅍㄹㅇㅂ (Sinsa) (Incision, upper epicanthoplasty) Ptosis correction optional (but they said they’d prefer I not do it)
Because surgery ran late, there was some waiting time, but I liked that the doctor spoke very clearly, saying do what needs to be done and if not, don’t. While measuring the distance between my brows, they told me things like I shouldn’t do too much epicanthoplasty
Surgery time 1 hour to 1.5 hours, anesthesia method - sedation 1-2 minutes + local Aftercare - swelling laser 1 session, and 2-3 more possible if needed A/S line loosening or surgical asymmetry up to 1 year
For now I wrote down roughly only what I remember. What do you think,,, Overall, I don’t think there were places that pressured me to book. There were a few places that said they’d give a discount if I booked the same day, but it wasn’t like they strongly forced me.
For my eyes, incision and upper/anterior epicanthoplasty seem essential, and I wasn’t thinking of ptosis correction at all, but about half told me to do it, so I feel like I don’t want to do it unless necessary.. I’ll probably think between two places and book. This much consultation-hopping should be enough, right??? What does everyone think??
