Nose Re-Surgery

Holding out for 6 months is mentally hard, and I also have to take care of my nose, so it’s hard

It’s been 1 month and 2 weeks since my nose surgery. My nose looks longer so it’s hard even to look in the mirror, and every morning and evening when I apply scar ointment and check my nose condition, I get a little existential dread. It seems dry, so I started putting antibiotic ointment on a cotton swab and applying it, but a big scab fell off. I thought it was just boogers. But from that day on, the cartilage support structure inside my nose started showing white, so I contacted the hospital. They said it looked like the wound where the scab came off was in the process of closing over, so they told me to apply antibiotic ointment, and after I did, the mucosa is covering over it... I’m worried about infection or a hematoma. It’s only been a month, so I thought I’d have recovered some by now, but I’m devastated that recovery is this slow. I’m shocked that the mucosa got so thin that the cartilage became visible right after a scab fell off. I think I’ve used at least 200 cotton swabs since the nose surgery. Sorry, Earth, damn... Even after removal, I’m going to have to live carefully with this nose, so it really feels like an insanely poor value surgery.
