Double-Jaw Surgery Reviews

I had double jaw surgery and 3 contour procedures! What I worried about more than the cost was the side effects..

I had double jaw surgery and contouring of 3 areas done together by Dr. Shin Hee-jin at [Clinic C]. I originally had a Class II malocclusion, so my lower jaw was on the short side, and I had gotten used to pushing my chin forward to compensate. I did that unconsciously both when eating and when speaking, and at some point my jaw started making noises. It sometimes felt like it was coming out of place, and later it even got to the point where my jaw would dislocate while I was talking, so I felt that this really needed treatment. After the examination, I was told that the left jaw disc had already moved out a lot and was worn down, so this was not simply about aesthetics but about resolving a functional problem first. Since I was going to need double jaw surgery anyway, I decided to do everything at once, thinking I should also correct the large cheekbones and chin that had caused me lifelong stress. Honestly, I looked at a lot of videos and reviews, and went to several consultations. But here, they performed very thorough tests before the consultation and then explained my condition with numbers and photos, so instead of just vaguely thinking I would look prettier, I could understand why surgery was necessary. Dr. Shin Hee-jin's explanation was especially realistic, which I liked!! He spoke calmly and without exaggeration about my current condition, the surgical plan, and the recovery process, which actually made me trust him more. I am now 1 month post-op, and when I visited the hospital today, they told me to wear the wafer a little longer At first I thought, oh, I have to do that again? But then I thought that if it was a process to stabilize the bite more reliably, it would be better than rushing. After the upper-jaw surgery, the cartilage in my left nose was a little twisted, so it hurt a bit while it was settling, but because they looked at everything in such detail instead of brushing it off, I felt reassured. They also said I can start eating soft foods little by little, so the pleasure of eating is gradually coming back. I still have some swelling, but I am newly realizing how comfortable it is to speak without worrying about my jaw popping out, haha. My face shape is not fully finished yet, but I can see the cheekbones and jawline being refined, so it makes me feel like, yes, this is why I had the surgery. As the function improves, the outline is being refined naturally too, which is a much bigger change than I expected.^^ It is only one month, so there is still a lot I need to be careful about, but just not feeling anxious about my jaw like before is already enough for me. Once time passes and everything settles more, I think it will feel different again, so I am just going to recover steadily~!! haha
